A gas tungsten arc welding torch includes a handle and a nozzle located distal of the handle and having a central bore. First and second tungsten electrodes are located partially within the central bore of the nozzle. The torch includes at least one filler wire channel that terminates radially inward of the first tungsten electrode and the second tungsten electrode. The torch includes a torch trigger. Operation of the torch trigger controls delivery of a first filler wire and a second filler wire through the at least one filler wire channel. The torch includes a wire feed speed control. Operation of the wire feed speed control adjusts a wire feed speed of both of the first filler wire and the second filler wire.

TIG welding system

A plasma cutting system includes a power supply that outputs first and second plasma cutting currents. A torch is connected to the power supply and includes a first cathode that receives the first plasma cutting current, a first electrode and swirl ring, a second cathode that receives the second plasma cutting current, and a second electrode and swirl ring. The torch simultaneously generates a first and second plasma arcs from the electrodes. A gas controller is configured to separately control a flow of a first plasma gas to the first swirl ring and a flow of a second plasma gas flow to the second swirl ring. A torch actuator moves the torch during cutting, and includes a motor having a hollow shaft rotor for rotating the torch during cutting. A motion controller is operatively connected to the torch actuator to control movements of the torch during cutting.

A plasma arc torch includes a nozzle body, a nozzle extending from the nozzle body, and a shield cap. An outer retaining cap is attached to the plasma arc torch and secures the shield cap to the plasma arc torch. A sleeve is located radially outward from the outer retaining cap and is configured to receive a flow of pressurized gas. An insulator is located between the outer retaining cap and the sleeve. At least one of the sleeve and the insulator forms a gas flow channel configured to direct a gas flow from the sleeve to a distal portion of the outer retaining cap.

Plasma arc torch and cutting system

Embodiments of welding and cutting systems are disclosed. A welding or cutting system includes a power source to provide electrical power for a welding or cutting process. The system includes a torch having a cryptographic device, and is to be used with the power source during the process and communicate with the power source. The cryptographic device is configured to receive an encryption key seeded by the power source during first time power-on initialization of the welding power source or after the torch is replaced. The cryptographic device is configured to store an unlock code associated with the power source, generate an encrypted message, which includes the unlock code, based on the encryption key, and communicate the encrypted message to the power source. The power source is configured to cease further operation unless the power source determines the torch to be a genuine manufacturer torch based on the unlock code.

Embodiments of arc plasma cutting torches are disclosed. In one embodiment, an eccentric plasma cutting torch includes an upper portion and a lower portion. The lower portion is angled on one side along a length &#x3bb; which results from continuously smaller cross sections of the lower portion which are biased towards a non-angled side of the torch. As a result, a central axis of an electrode of the torch, used for cutting, is biased by an offset from a central axis of the upper portion towards the non-angled side of the torch. Such an offset allows for a torch tip region of the torch to get closer into otherwise difficult-to-access portions of workpieces for cutting. Furthermore, the overall dimensions of the torch are configured such that cooling elements within the torch dissipate enough heat to keep the torch in a stable operating condition during a cutting operation.

Angled plasma cutting torch

An integrated plasma cutting system includes a plasma cutting power supply and a motion control device to move a torch along a desired cut path relative to a workpiece. The system also includes a torch height control device to adjust a gap between a tip of the torch and the workpiece and a gas control device to regulate a gas used in the integrated plasma cutting system. The system further includes a centralized controller that includes an integrated microprocessor architecture that controls a sequence of the plasma arc, controls the regulation of the gas used in the integrated plasma cutting system gases, and controls coordination of the movement of the torch along the cut path with adjusting the gap without aid of an intervening microprocessor architecture in any one of the plasma cutting power supply, the motion control device, the torch height control device and the gas control device.

The system and method described herein generally pertains to generating a lead in profile that defines acceleration before a cutting velocity is achieved to perform a cutting operation and a lead out profile that defines deceleration after the cutting operation is performed. The lead in profile defines acceleration from approximately zero (0) to the cutting velocity within a duration of time in order to perform the cutting operation, wherein the lead in profile is calculated based on the cutting velocity or a type of material of the workpiece, a start location for the cutting operation, and a thickness of the workpiece. The lead out profile defines deceleration from the cutting operation to approximately zero (0) within a duration of time, wherein the lead out profile is calculated based on the cutting velocity or a type of material of the workpiece, an end location for the cutting operation, and a thickness of the workpiece.

System and method for multiverse controls

A system for remotely positioning an end effector includes a sensor in an input device aligned with an axis to generate a signal reflective of an angular displacement of the sensor about the axis. A processor receives the signal and executes a set of logic stored in a memory to filter the signal, smooth the signal, and generate a control signal to the end effector that is proportional to the angular displacement of the sensor about the axis. A method for remotely positioning an end effector includes moving an input device, sensing an angular displacement of a sensor from an axis, generating a signal reflective of the angular displacement of the sensor about the axis, smoothing the signal, and generating a control signal to the end effector that is proportional to the angular displacement of the sensor about the axis.
