A filling slit is formed in a first panel of web material of a flexible pouch enclosure formed from the first panel and an opposing second panel of the web material and having a resealable closing assembly having interlocking male and female members joined to a flange. After the flexible pouch enclosure is at least partially filled with a product through an opening in the first panel of the web material that is created by the filling slit, the filling slit is closed by sealing the first panel to the flange of the resealable closing assembly.

A flexible carrier for carrying a plurality of containers includes a flexible sheet having two or more rows and multiple ranks of container apertures formed therein. The plurality of containers are each placed into a respective container receiving aperture and are thus unitized in a package. The flexible carrier further includes a plurality of handles corresponding with the multiple ranks, each handle formed at a periphery of the flexible sheet and a line of weakness formed between the transverse ranks. As a result of the described configuration, the flexible carrier is divisible into multiple sub-carriers, each unitizing a set of containers and each including a handle along a respective transverse edge of the resulting sub-carrier.

The present disclosure relates to pouches or packages with at least two separate storage volumes, wherein a bubble valve, protruding element valve or pressure actuated valve is provided for each storage volume. The two bubble valves may be presented in parallel configuration, angled slightly toward each other, or at right angles to each other. The bubble valves may also have different sized openings in order to adjust the proportion of products mixed and to adjust for differing viscosities.

Multi-chamber pouch and valves

The present disclosure relates to a valve, a method for forming a valve, and a package. The valve is made of at least three layers&#x2014;a first exterior layer (i.e., a base layer), at least one interior layer (i.e., a bubble layer), and a second exterior layer (i.e., a channel layer)&#x2014;and an attachment section located on each of at least two of the at least three layers. A bubble is formed between two of the first exterior layer and the at least one interior layer, and the bubble includes an enclosed material. A channel is formed between two of the second exterior layer, the at least two interior layers, and the first exterior layer, and the channel includes an inlet and an outlet. A physical characteristic of the bubble biases the channel towards a closed position that restricts flow of contents from the inlet to the outlet.

The present disclosure relates to a closure which uses a bubble valve with three chambers. A transverse bubble element on the product side of the bubble valve can expand or inflate thereby inhibiting flow, or contract or deflate thereby allowing flow. A longitudinal bubble element to the side of the bubble valve is used to receive the contents from the transverse bubble element when the transverse bubble element is deflated.

The present disclosure relates to a plastic valve and method for forming a plastic valve comprising an exterior base layer, an interior bubble layer and an exterior channel layer, wherein a flow channel is formed between the bubble layer and the channel layer. In a first aspect of the disclosure, a rigid or semi-rigid spherical ball travels between first and second ends of a channel molded into the bubble layer, thereby moving between a closed configuration and an open configuration. In a second aspect of the disclosure, a bubble is formed between the bubble layer and the base layer of plastic film, and includes a static planar footprint and a pre-tension height. The channel layer is applied to the bubble layer under tension to form a channel. Applying the channel layer decreases a height of the bubble from the pre-tension height to a post-tension height and increases an internal pressure of the bubble.

The present disclosure relates to a bubble valve for flexible containers wherein the bubble valve can be in a first configuration wherein a hinged header or flip-top is in a straight configuration and the valve is closed, or in a second configuration wherein the hinged header or flip-top is pulled back and the valve permits fluid flow.

A device for applying a flexible carrier to a plurality of containers includes a base with a plurality of pockets and an indexing means and a carrier having a series of indexing features that correspond with the indexing means for placement of the carrier relative to the base, wherein a container may be inserted into one of the plurality of pockets of the base for desired alignment within the carrier.

A system for packaging containers within a flexible container carrier includes a generally continuous string of container carriers arranged with divisible weakened connections between adjacent individual container carriers that is fed through an applicating machine for applying the container carriers to individual containers. A cut-off device is arranged downstream of the applicating machine to selectively accelerate or decelerate the containers to separate the generally continuous string into individual container carriers.

This invention relates to a package of a plurality of containers unitized with a flexible carrier. The carrier is constructed from a plastic planar sheet having a plurality of container receiving apertures and a panel positioned with respect to the planar sheet. The panel is preferably cut to form a removable and assemblable functional or decorative object, such as a model or glasses.

An applicating machine for applying a flexible carrier to a plurality of containers provided from an infeed includes a jaw drum for applying a flexible carrier to a plurality of containers provided and a cutoff device for cutting the carrier into a desired size. The cutoff device includes an adjustable beam positionable into multiple angular positions relative to a flow of the plurality of containers depending on the desired size of the multipack.

The carrier is constructed from a plastic planar sheet having a plurality of container receiving apertures and a panel or handle positioned with respect to the planar sheet. An applicating machine for applying a flexible carrier to a plurality of containers provided from an infeed includes a jaw drum moveable between an operating position and a storage position away from the operating position. In the operating position the jaw drum is positioned with respect to the infeed to accept the plurality of containers and apply the flexible carrier to the plurality of containers. A second jaw drum may be moveable into the operating position to enable packaging of containers having different dimensions and/or packages having different configurations.
