In embodiments, the operations can include detecting a request to present wagering game content via a web browser associated with a wagering game machine, wherein an identifier is associated with the request, wherein the identifier is stored in a setting associated with the wagering game machine via a first mode of the wagering game machine, and wherein the request is provided via a second mode of the wagering game machine different from the first mode. The operations further include generating a document associated with the identifier, wherein the wagering game content is included in the document. In some examples, the document is in a format presentable via the web browser. The operations further include providing the document for presentation via the web browser.

Browser based wagering game systems and configuration

An illustrative method manages configuration information of electronic gaming machines (EGMs) and maintains server configuration information at a server that supports EGMs in a server-client relationship. The server configuration information contains stored information about the configuration of each EGM. EGM configuration information transmitted from the EMGs is received at the server. The server and EGM configuration information each contains corresponding fields with values representing information about predetermined factors. The values in the fields of the server configuration information are compared with the values in corresponding fields of the EGM configuration information. A report is generated based on the comparison.

An illustrative method controls a gaming device that supports wagering on games. A communication is received at a gaming device coupled to the gaming network from another gaming device coupled to the gaming network. A determination is made by the gaming device whether the another gaming device is a trusted source. The gaming device processes the proprietary information associated with the communication only if the gaming device determines that the another gaming device is a trusted source.

An interface is coupled to the storage device and is capable of communication with the network to receive at least a part of the instruction set for the wagering game from the network. The wagering game provides access to a community event over the network.

A wagering game system and its operations are described herein. In embodiments, the operations can include presenting a web browser on a display associated with a wagering game machine and receiving a request to present wagering game content on the display, via the web browser. The operations can further include determining a web address stored in a setting associated with a wagering game machine and sending the web address associated with the wagering game machine to a wagering game server. The wagering game server is configured to provide a webpage document described in the web address. The web address can be stored in the setting prior to the request to present the wagering game content on the display. The operations can further include receiving the webpage document from the wagering game server; and presenting the webpage document on the display of the wagering game machine via the web browser.

A controller of gaming machines that permit wagering on wagering games includes a first memory location that stores a first time-based schedule of gaming actions to be taken by the gaming machines that are located remote from the controller. A second memory location stores identities of first gaming machines. One of the first and second memory locations stores a pointer that links the other of the first and second memory locations and associates the first gaming machines with the first schedule so that one of the first schedule and first gaming machines can be modified independent of and without modifying the other of the first schedule and the first gaming machines. A data transmitter transmits instructions corresponding to the gaming actions defined by the first schedule to the first gaming machines.

A gaming system for conducting a wagering game includes a progressive jackpot awarded in response to a jackpot win event. The gaming system includes a first gaming machine linked to the progressive jackpot, the first gaming machine accepting a first wager. The gaming system further includes a second gaming machine linked to the progressive jackpot, the second gaming machine accepting a second wager that is greater than the first wager. A first player making the first wager at the first gaming machine is awarded the progressive jackpot if the jackpot win event is associated with the first gaming machine. A second player making the second wager at the second gaming machine is awarded the progressive jackpot plus an expected value equalizing award if the jackpot win event is associated with the second gaming machine.
