A wrist guard and a gloved wrist guard are disclosed for providing coverage and protection of the radiocarpal joint including the distal end of the radius, the ulna and the carpal bones as well as the dorsal aspect of the metacarpals.

A blind fastener assembly utilizes flexible legs extending from a cylindrical section of a spring pin. Gripping elements extend radially outwardly from the ends of the flexible legs. When the flexible legs and gripping elements are extended through an opening in the wall, a center pin can be pushed into the cylindrical portion to expand the flexible legs so that the gripping elements can engage the back of the wall. In one embodiment, removal of the center pin causes the flexible legs to contract whereupon the assembly can be removed from the wall.

Blind fastener assembly and release pin apparatus

A remote jettison system is provided to disconnect a mine roller from a tactical vehicle. The system enables personnel conducting mine roller operations to disengage the vehicle from the mine roller without leaving the vehicle. The remote jettison system has two assemblies: A mine roller assembly and a tactical vehicle assembly. The mine roller assembly, which is connected to the mine roller, can be remotely disconnected from the tactical vehicle assembly, which is mounted on the vehicle. The system utilizes one mechanized latch to release the mine roller assembly from the tactical vehicle assembly, allowing the force of gravity to cause them to separate.

A torque nut assembly includes a multiple-piece nut body and a cap. The nut body can be positioned to define a threaded axial passage, and can expand radially to open the threaded axial passage. The cap is shaped and sized to substantially engage the nut body when the threaded axial passage is so-defined. The cap is locked to the nut body when the cap is engaged thereon.

Torque nut assembly

A method and apparatus for cargo transfer at sea, more particularly, a flow-through vessel and related method for the at-sea and underway launching and loading of air-cushion vehicles. The vessel includes a hull having a forward end and an aft end, a continuous deck extending from the forward end to the aft end of the hull, a forward ramp attached to the continuous deck at the forward end of the hull, and an aft ramp attached to the continuous deck at the aft end of the hull. At least a portion of the continuous deck is uncovered and accessible from above the deck.

Carrier and flow-through ship

The present invention's vehicle, suitable for being hoisted while carrying people between destinations, is compactable and de-compactable. As typically embodied, the vehicle includes a box-shaped open frame, plural chairs, and a shock-absorbent base. The frame includes a rectangular floor panel, a rectangular ceiling panel, and four posts connecting the floor and ceiling panels. Each post is foldable via a medial hinge to half its unfolded length, and is attached in a hinged manner at its opposite ends to respective corner portions of the floor panel and the ceiling panel. Each chair is mounted on the floor panel and can be folded down to a position adjacent to the top surface of the floor panel using hinges variously connecting chair components including a seat, a chair back, two side safety restraints, and a chair support. The shock-absorbent base is solid or inflatable and is attached beneath the floor panel.

A platform for providing an interface between a host vessel and ship-to-shore craft has a water buoyant surface that is transportable on the host vessel, an angled deck within the surface, an inner and outer ramp, and an inner and outer deck of different deck heights within the platform.

An inflatable trajectory altering and blast energy absorption system has a plenum with walls that are spaced apart from one another when the plenum is inflated. Flexible members, dispersed in the plenum and coupled thereto, are placed in tension when the plenum is inflated. Means for altering the trajectory of a projectile entering said plenum are dispersed within the plenum.

A method and system for neutralizing mines has a vehicle carrying fluid connected to a pump and cavitation pressure vessel that creates high pressure fluid. An actuator valve modifies the flow characteristics of the high pressure fluid to be pulsating at selectively different frequencies, pressures, and flow rate. Nozzles on the vehicle jet high pressure fluid therethrough and a framework on the vehicle orients the nozzles to direct the jetted flow of high pressure fluid downward and into ground under a roadway. An abrasive and/or explosive can be added to the high pressure fluid before it reaches the nozzles. The jetted flow from the nozzles can displace ground and exert pressure to detonate and cut mines and neutralize them on and under the roadway. Cavitation can be created in the jetted flow to increase the dynamic force of the jetted flow.

An inflatable body armor system has one or more body armor sections adapted to be worn by a user. Each body armor section includes (i) a inflatable flexible/sealable plenum, (ii) a ballistic armor fabric encasing the plenum, and (iii) a variety of lines, shaped objects and/or fabric sheets dispersed in the plenum to alter the trajectory of a projectile entering the plenum.

Inflatable body armor system

A rocket propelled textile and cordage net fire extinguishing system is deployed from a platform at a safe standoff distance from a fire. The rocket propelled matrix-like net flies over, lands on, and drapes over the burning site. A detonating means, or detonating network on the net is actuated to rupture spaced-apart canisters on the net that are filled with halon and/or other fire extinguishing compounds. The detonating network quickly disperses the fire extinguishing compounds to engulf and extinguish the fire safely and efficiently without unduly exposing fire fighters to danger. The net fire extinguisher system can extinguish fires aboard a maritime vessel, particularly when the burning craft cannot be safely boarded or burns so fiercely that it cannot be approached closely. The net fire extinguisher system can combat highly dangerous fires including chemical and oil fires, (oil rig fires) on land and at sea.

Textile and cordage net fire extinguisher system

A detonation arrestor cuts the detonating cord of a dud line charge to prevent the pressure wave from a nearby explosion from sympathetically detonating the dud line charge. A housing of the detonation arrestor has a transverse passageway to receive the detonating cord of the dud line charge and an axial bore intersecting the passageway. A cutter piston having a cutter blade is disposed in the bore and is sized to permit axial displacement by a shallow dish-shaped diaphragm spring. The diaphragm spring has its center adjacent to one end of the cutter piston and laterally extends from the bore to be secured to the housing along its round periphery in a sealed relationship. The diaphragm spring is formed in the configuration of a Belleville spring from a spring material providing strength, rigidity, and spring modulus to snap to an extended position when displaced to a position past an over center position by an impinging pressure wave. When the diaphragm spring is displaced by the impinging pressure wave to snap to the extended position, it axially displaces the cutter piston in the bore to cut the detonating cord with the cutter blade and arrest detonation of interconnected ordnance.

Line charge sympathetic detonation arrestor

A system for arresting a fleeing seagoing vessel deploys a net using one or more self-propelled vehicles from a platform. The net is flown over and draped onto a seagoing vessel of interest such that a portion of the net's periphery resides in the water. Drag devices are coupled to the net to generate drag forces at the portion of the net's periphery in the water as the seagoing vessel moves through the water. The system can also include a variety of non-lethal weapon systems that are coupled to or incorporated with the net, and designed to subdue the crew of the vessel and/or the vessel's engine and electronic components.
