Flag mounting bracket

Disclosed is a mounting assembly adapted for retrofitting automobile window flags on surfaces other than automobile windows. The device includes a continuous bracket having two opposing ends that are interconnected by a flexible hinge positioned there between. The first opposing end of the continuous bracket is configured to receive and carry a slotted portion of the automobile window flag assembly and the second opposing end of the continuous bracket has a securing member formed thereon that is configured to secure the automobile window flag assembly to the device when the two opposing ends of the continuous bracket are fastened to one another.

Device for retrofitting automobile window flag assemblies to surfaces other than automobile windows

A poly(phenylene) compound of copolymers that can be prepared with either random or multiblock structures where a first polymer has a repeat unit with a structure of four sequentially connected phenyl rings with a total of 2 pendant phenyl groups and 4 pendant tolyl groups and the second polymer has a repeat unit with a structure of four sequentially connected phenyl rings with a total of 6 pendant phenyl groups. The second polymer has chemical groups attached to some of the pendant phenyl groups selected from CH, CHBr, and CHN(CH)Br groups. When at least one group is CHN(CH)Br, the material functions as an anion exchange membrane.

Poly(phenylene)-based anion exchange membrane

A portable, non-cryogenic, oxygen generation system capable of delivering oxygen gas at purities greater than 98% and flow rates of 15 L/min or more is described. The system consists of two major components. The first component is a high efficiency membrane capable of separating argon and a portion of the nitrogen content from air, yielding an oxygen-enriched permeate flow. This is then fed to the second component, a pressure swing adsorption (PSA) unit utilizing a commercially available, but specifically formulated zeolite compound to remove the remainder of the nitrogen from the flow. The system is a unique gas separation system that can operate at ambient temperatures, for producing high purity oxygen for various applications (medical, refining, chemical production, enhanced combustion, fuel cells, etc . . . ) and represents a significant advance compared to current technologies.

Hybrid membrane&#x2014;PSA system for separating oxygen from air

Improved sulfonated polyphenylene compositions, improved polymer electrolyte membranes and nanocomposites formed there from for use in fuel cells are described herein. The improved compositions, membranes and nanocomposites formed there from overcome limitations of Nafion&#xae; membranes.

Sulfonated polyphenylene polymers

A new class of hybrid organic-inorganic materials, and methods of synthesis, that can be used as a proton exchange membrane in a direct methanol fuel cell. In contrast with Nafion&#xae; PEM materials, which have random sulfonation, the new class of materials have ordered sulfonation achieved through self-assembly of alternating polyimide segments of different molecular weights comprising, for example, highly sulfonated hydrophilic PDA-DASA polyimide segment alternating with an unsulfonated hydrophobic 6FDA-DAS polyimide segment. An inorganic phase, e.g., 0.5&#x2013;5 wt % TEOS, can be incorporated in the sulfonated polyimide copolymer to further improve its properties. The new materials exhibit reduced swelling when exposed to water, increased thermal stability, and decreased Oand Hgas permeability, while retaining proton conductivities similar to Nafion&#xae;. These improved properties may allow direct methanol fuel cells to operate at higher temperatures and with higher efficiencies due to reduced methanol crossover.

Proton exchange membrane materials for the advancement of direct methanol fuel-cell technology

An anti-theft device for use with a pedal operated vehicle having a pedal lever. The device includes a housing member secured to the interior of a vehicle adjacent the pivotal point of the pedal lever. The housing member has a first bore housing a sliding rod. The rod moves from a retracted position to an extended position. In the extended position, the rod protrudes from the housing member for a predetermined distance and engages the pedal lever. A mechanically controlled pin engages the rod in the extended position to keep it in the extended position. With the pin engaging the rod, the rod prevents a driver from pressing down upon the pedal lever. Thus, disabling the operation of the vehicle. The normal operation of the pedal lever is restored when the pin disengages the rod, enabling the rod to freely retract into the first bore of the housing member. The movement of the rod is triggered by either air from an air compressor or by the force of a solenoid located behind the rod.
