The present disclosure relates to an article for detecting a disinfectant via visual feedback. The article have a first substrate with a first major surface and opposite ends. The article also comprises a process indicator disposed on at least a portion of the first major surface. The process indicator reacts with at least one liquid disinfectant selected from the group consisting of glutaraldehyde, ortho-phthalaldehyde, hydrogen peroxide, peroxyacetic acid, and combinations thereof. The process indicator can be formed from a synthetic amine-containing polymer derived from polyethylenimine (PEI). The article can have a flow channel that is formed by a portion of the process indicator and that extends between the opposite ends. The disclosure also relates to a kit containing the article as well as a method of using the article in a disinfection process. The article is used to diagnose issues in an automated endoscope reprocessors (AERs).

A device for dispensing a dental material has a cartridge with a dispensing end. The dispensing end has a dispensing opening for the dental material. The dispensing end further has in essence an axially symmetric shape with a truncation. The truncation provides the dispensing end with a generally flat dispensing surface through which the dispensing opening extends. The device has further a cap received on the dispensing end. The cap and the dispensing end are rotatable relative to each other between an open position, in which an orifice in the cap uncovers the dispensing surface, and a closed position, in which a closed space is formed between the cap and the dispensing surface. The device allows for a relatively convenient dispensation of dental material, in particular for a dispensation of a dental composite filling material.

An apparatus for dispensing a viscous dental paste that includes a barrel member, a dispensing tip, and a platform. The barrel defines a chamber for containing a viscous material. The dispensing tip extends from the barrel member to a dispensing end and defines a passageway open to the chamber. The dispensing end forms an outlet opening open to the passageway and circumscribed by a continuous wall defining an interior surface and an exterior surface. The platform projects from the dispensing end and defines opposing first and second major faces. The first major face is aligned with the outlet opening. The second major face is contiguous with a section of the exterior surface. Viscous material is dispensed from the chamber and onto the platform as a ribbon or sheet.
