Compositions which are well suited for forming into machine direction orientation (MDO) films are described. Multilayer films containing one or more layers of the compositions and/or films are also described. Additionally, label assemblies utilizing the multilayer films, labeled substrates, and related methods are described. Various versions of the multilayer films are described including films having at least two skin layers and an interior core layer. Particular multilayer films are described having polyethylene rich cores.

Films with enhanced scuff resistance, clarity, and conformability

The present invention relates to an adhesive compositions, facestocks and/or packaging labels containing same, where such compositions, facestocks and/or labels are designed to facilitate the recyclability of a plastic article formed from any suitable polymer or mixture of polymers (e.g., a polyethylene terephthalate (PET), high density polyethylene (HDPE), polyvinyl chloride (PVC), low density polyethylene (LDPE), polypropylene (PP), polystyrene (PS), or others of all plastic types), or even glass bottles. In another embodiment, the present invention relates to a method for removing an adhesive composition, facestock and/or packaging label containing same, from a plastic article that is to be recycled.

Adhesive acrylate-olefin copolymers, methods for producing same and compositions utilizing same

Adhesive compositions, facestocks and/or packaging labels containing same, where such compositions, facestocks and/or labels designed to facilitate the recyclability of a plastic article formed from any suitable polymer or mixture of polymers (e.g., a polyethylene terephthalate (PET), recycled polyethylene terephthalate (rPET), high density polyethylene (HDPE), polyvinyl chloride (PVC), low density polyethylene (LDPE), polypropylene (PP), polystyrene (PS), polyesters, recycled polyesters, polylacticacid (PLA), biopolymers, cellulose or other types of polymers or plastics) are described. Methods for removing an adhesive composition, facestock and/or packaging label containing same, from a plastic article that is to be recycled and/or subjected to multi-generational recycling are also provided.

Labels compatible with recycling

Label constructions and labeled containers are described which exhibit reduced label defects. The label constructions can be applied relatively soon after manufacture of the container and thereby avoid a requirement of storing containers for pre-designated dwell times. Also described are related methods of eliminating or at least reducing the occurrence of label defects by use of the label constructions and techniques of selecting the label constructions.

Labeling of polymeric containers

A polymeric film for labeling articles comprises a core layer (A), a print skin layer (B) comprising a polypropylene homopolymer, a polypropylene copolymer, a high density polyethylene, or a mixture of any of the foregoing polymers and at least 10% by weight based on the weight of the layer (B) of a polyolefin elastomer, an alkene-unsaturated carboxylic acid or acid derivative copolymer, or a mixture of any of the foregoing polymers, and an adhesive skin layer (C) comprising a polypropylene homopolymer, where the polymeric film is oriented. An adhesive containing label stock and an adhesive label die-cut from the adhesive containing label stock comprise the polymeric film which is especially useful for pressure sensitive hot melt adhesive applications.

Multilayered polymeric film for hot melt adhesive labeling and label stock and label thereof

A polymeric film for labeling articles comprises an asymmetric multilayered film comprising specialized skin and core layers whose compositions address multiple needs including adhesion of a printing ink and an adhesive and die-cuttability. The polymeric film provides improved performance in the conversion to an adhesive containing label stock and adhesive label.

Asymmetric multilayered polymeric film and label stock and label thereof

A heat shrinkable label comprises (A) a heat shrinkable film comprising at least one thermoplastic polymer, and (B) a curable adhesive comprising (1) at least one urethane (meth)acrylate resin having an average of about 1 to about 1.6 (meth)acrylate groups per resin molecule, (2) at least one tackifier, and (3) at least one photoinitiator, where the film has an ultimate shrinkage at 135&#xb0; C. of at least 15%, and the adhesive has sufficient precure tack, wherein the loop tack of the uncured adhesive is at least 4.3 g/cm. The heat shrinkable label is useful in high-speed industrial processes such as beverage container labeling.

Heat shrinkable film with (meth)acrylate resin curable adhesive

This invention relates to polymer film useful as a skin layer for synthetic paper or label comprising (A) a filler (B) a carrier polymer and (C) a minor amount of an ink adhesion improving polymer. The film is printable by thermal transfer printing. The invention relates to multilayer articles, which are useful as a synthetic paper or label.

Synthetic paper skins, paper and labels containing the same and methods of making the same

The present invention relates to a halogen-free, multilayered, uniaxially oriented heat shrink film comprising (A) a core layer comprising a blend of polyolefins; (B) a first skin layer on the upper surface of the core layer, and (C) a second skin layer on the lower surface of the core layer, wherein the first and second skin layers independently comprise a polyolefin blend and wherein the shrinkage of the film is at least about 40% in the machine direction at 270&deg; F. The present invention further relates to a label having an adhesive applied to at least a portion of at least one of the skin layers of the multilayered heat shrink film. The heat shrink labels of the present invention are used to encapsulate articles.
