A phased-array includes, in part, N transceivers each including a receiver and a transmitter, and a controller. The phased array is configured to transmit a first radio signal from a first element of the array during a first time period, receive the first radio signal from a second element of the array, recover a first value associated with the radio signal received by the second element, transmit a second radio signal from the second element of the array during a second time period, receive the second radio signal from the first element of the array, recover a second value associated with the radio signal received by the first element, and determine a first phase of a reference signal received by the second element from the recovered first and second values. The first phase is relative to a second phase of the reference signal received by the first element.

Self-calibrating phased-array transceiver

A method of setting phases of a multitude of transmit elements of a phased array includes, in part, setting a phase of a first transmit element to N different values during each of N different time intervals, transmitting an electromagnetic signal from the first transmit element at each of the N time intervals, measuring a power of the electromagnetic signal at a receiving unit during each of the N time intervals, and selecting coefficients of a basis function such that a difference between a power value computed by the basis function and the measured power value associated with each of the N phases is smaller than a threshold value. The threshold value is optionally defined by a minimum of the sum of squares of the difference between a power value computed by the basis function and the power value for each of the N phases.

Phased array wireless power delivery optmization

Techniques are provided for a microfluidic chip for performing a microfluidic reaction. The microfluidic chip includes a rigid layer, a first polymer layer that forms a first surface of a microfluidic chamber within the microfluidic chip, a first adhesive layer disposed between the rigid layer and the first polymer layer, and a second polymer layer that forms a second surface of the microfluidic chamber, and a first port connecting an exterior of the microfluidic chip to the microfluidic chamber through at least the rigid layer, the first polymer layer, and the first adhesive layer. A first self-sealing valve is formed in the first polymer layer and disposed within the first port, the first self-sealing valve configured to seal directly against the rigid layer through a first gap in the first adhesive layer in response to pressure from thermal expansion of a fluid within the microfluidic chamber.

Polymerase chain reaction using a microfluidic chip fabricated with printed circuit board techniques

Methods, systems and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media for a data record resolution and correlation system. One of the methods includes obtaining data sets each including records associated with entities, the records each specifying information for a plurality of aspects of an entity, the information being encoded in the records, for each of the data sets, according to a respective format. One or more bundles are determined from the data sets, with each bundle indicating records determined to be associated with a same entity and determined using similarity rules that compare aspects specified in the records. Information describing a particular bundle is presented to a reviewing user, and the reviewing user can specify one or more records included in the particular bundle that are properly matched. The particular bundle can be updated based on the reviewing user's specification.

Data record resolution and correlation system

This invention provides a system for performing PCR, and real time PCR in particular, with great speed and specificity. The system employs a heat block containing a liquid composition to rapidly transfer heat to and from reaction vessels. The system makes use of the reflective properties of the liquid metal to reflect signal from the PCR into the vessel and out the top. In this way, the signal can be measured by an optical assembly in real time without removing the vessels from the heat block.
