A modular lighting system may include a support structure, a plurality of heat sink modules physically supported by the support structure, and one or more light source modules coupled to the plurality of heat sink modules. The plurality of heat sink modules may be arranged in a modular manner such that the number of heat sink modules in the modular lighting system is variable, and each heat sink module may be an integral molded structure defining at least one opening or passageway.

A lighting system can include a luminaire and a bracket for mounting the luminaire to a structure during installation. The bracket can be configured for mounting to the structure independent of the luminaire. Once the bracket is mounted, the luminaire can be hung or suspended from the bracket to facilitate wiring the luminaire. Once the hung luminaire is wired, the installer can readily move the luminaire into a long-term operating position with respect to the bracket and fasten the luminaire to the bracket with a clip or other appropriate fastener.

A light fixture includes one or more light modules and a sensor module coupled to a housing of the light fixture. The sensor module includes an extension arm and a sensor unit that is rotatably coupled to one end of the extension arm. The other end of the extension arm that is opposite to the end coupled to the sensor unit is pivotably coupled to the housing of the light fixture to pivotably rotate the sensor module between a first position and a second position based on a mounting of the light fixture. Further, the sensor unit is adjustable independent of the extension arm.

A lighting fixture includes a housing channel and a heat sink assembly coupled to the housing channel. The heat sink assembly includes a heat sink base and a heat sink clamp that are coupled together via a fastener to retain a waveguide to the lighting fixture. In particular, the fastener is disposed at an acute angle relative to the respective waveguide. Further, the lighting fixture includes one or more light sources coupled to the heat sink base and oriented such that light emitted by the one or more light sources enters an edge of the waveguide. Furthermore, the lighting fixture includes an end cap that covers an open lateral end of the housing channel. Further, the end cap operates as an alignment bracket to couple the lighting fixture to a second lighting fixture adjacent the open lateral end of the housing channel of the lighting fixture.

A multi-functional heat sink includes a top portion and a skirt portion extending down from the top portion. When a light source is attached to the top portion on an underside of the multi-functional heat sink, the skirt portion reduces risk of rain water from reaching the light source and prevents light emitted by the light source from exiting the multi-functional heat sink in an upward direction. The multi-functional heat sink is made from sheet metal.
