An electrical connector includes a housing having a hermaphroditic mating interface configured to be mated with a mating electrical connector having an identical mating interface. The housing a contact shroud at the mating end with openings at the front. A contact assembly is received in the contact cavity with mating ends of contacts aligned with corresponding openings and defining a hermaphroditic contact interface. The electrical connector includes a retractable cover located at the contact shroud to close the openings that is movable relative to the housing between a closed position and an open position. A cover actuator is coupled to the housing including a pusher and an actuation element operably coupled to the retractable cover. The pusher is configured to interface with a complimentary actuation element of the mating electrical connector to actuate a retractable cover of the mating electrical connector.

Hermaphroditic advancing electrical connector

A power connector includes a terminal block holding terminals in terminal channels with terminating ends configured to be electrically coupled to corresponding wires at separable interfaces. The power connector includes a rear insert covering the terminating ends of the terminals having wire ports configured to receive the corresponding wires during a wire poke-in process. The power connector includes biasing members associated with the terminals each including a pusher configured to be biased against the wire to push the wire into direct physical contact with the separable interface of the corresponding terminal. The power connector includes a release mechanism includes a plurality of pusher release elements. The release mechanism is actuated to release the pushers of each of the biasing members from the corresponding wires.

A charging device for charging a mobile device using a charging component includes a power connector and a thermal monitoring device. The power connector includes a housing having an end wall between a front and a rear. The housing includes power contact channels with power contacts received therein. The thermal monitoring device is coupled to the end wall of the housing. The thermal monitoring device includes a substrate, a mating connector mounted to the substrate, and a temperature sensor mounted to the substrate. The temperature sensor is electrically connected to the mating connector being positioned in close proximity with at least one of the power contacts such that the temperature sensor is in thermal communication with the power contact for monitoring the temperature of the power contact.

Thermal monitoring device for charging system

A supply charging device includes a supply power connector having a housing with a mating end and a flange configured to be mounted to a panel. The housing includes power contact channels extending through a base receiving power contacts. The housing includes a guide member engaging a guide feature of a mobile device to locate a receiver power connector relative to the supply power connector. The supply charging device includes a retaining plate securing the housing to the panel. The supply charging device includes a mounting spring extending from the housing and received in the panel cutout. The mounting spring engages the panel to allow the supply power connector to float relative to the panel within the panel cutout for aligning the mating end of the supply power connector with the receiver power connector.

Charging system for a mobile device

A lighting receptacle assembly includes a receptacle assembly housing having a base and a head with a cavity. The head has an upper surface defining a mating interface for mating with a sensor connector and a seal configured to be sealed against the fixture housing. An index mounting ring is coupled to the fixture housing from an interior of the fixture housing and includes indexing features interfacing with housing indexing features. A spring holder plate is coupled to the head and holds a spring biasing the receptacle assembly housing in a holding direction toward the index mounting ring to engage the housing indexing features and the indexing features.

Lighting receptacle assembly for light fixture

A solar junction box for a solar panel having at least one photovoltaic cell and a foil electrically connected to the at least one cell including a housing having a base and a cover coupled to the base. The base and the cover define a cavity. The base has a mounting wall including a mounting surface configured to be mounted to the solar panel including a foil opening at the mounting surface. A contact assembly is received in the cavity having a terminal including a foil contact configured to be terminated to the foil. The foil contact has a transition leg transitioning into the foil opening to interface with the foil and a mating leg configured to be mated with the foil. The mating leg extends at or beyond the mounting wall.

Solar junction box

High-speed connectors are identically configured each comprising a housing with a first interconnection feature at one location of the housing and a second interconnection feature at another location of the housing with a channel interposed between the first and second interconnection features. The first interconnection feature of the connector is configured to attach with the second interconnection feature of an identical connector and vise versa. The housing channel includes opposed wall sections with shields attached thereto that connect with one another when the connectors are combined. A plurality of electrical terminals is disposed within each housing channel and extend a length from a channel floor to a channel opening. The electrical terminals form an electrical/mechanical contact between interconnecting electrical terminal pairs when the connectors are joined together. In an example, two or more points of electrical/mechanical contact are formed between interconnecting electrical terminal pairs.

Small pitch high-speed connectors

A light sensor assembly includes a sensor connector configured to be coupled to a receptacle connector mounted to a light fixture. The sensor connector includes a housing having a top and a bottom defining a mating interface configured to be mated to the receptacle connector. The housing has a sealed cavity including a first sensor component in the sealed cavity sensing an environmental characteristic exterior of the sensor connector. The sensor connector includes power contacts held by the housing and extending from the bottom for electrical connection with receptacle power contacts of the receptacle connector. The sensor connector includes a lid assembly at the top of the housing. The lid assembly has a lid defining an unsealed cavity allowing airflow through the unsealed cavity. The lid assembly has a second sensor component in the unsealed cavity sensing an environmental characteristic exterior of the sensor connector.

A light sensor assembly includes a sensor connector having a housing including a top and a bottom with power contact channels in the bottom of the housing. The sensor connector includes a circuit board supported by the housing at the top having a sensor component electrically connected to the circuit board sensing an environmental characteristic exterior of the sensor connector. The sensor connector includes power contacts received in corresponding contact channels and extending from the bottom for electrical connection with receptacle power contacts of the receptacle connector. The power contacts include a neutral power contact, a line power contact and a load power contact, where the line power contact and the load power contact are integral as a unitary contact body forming a monolithic line-load power contact.

Power contacts for a light sensor assembly

A solar junction box for a solar panel includes a contact assembly having a base configured to be mounted to a solar panel and a terminal held by the base. The base has at least one foil opening configured to receive a foil. The terminal has a protection device contact configured to be terminated to a protection device. The terminal has a foil contact configured to be terminated to the foil. The terminal has a terminating contact configured to be electrically connected to a terminating assembly. The solar junction box includes a cover covering the contact assembly. The cover has walls defining a cavity receiving the terminal of the contact assembly. The walls are configured to be mounted directly to the solar panel.

A light sensor assembly includes a receptacle connector configured to be mounted to a light fixture and configured to receive a sensor connector having a photocontrol component including a housing, a spring element and a housing retainer. The housing has a base extending through a fixture housing. The housing has locating features configured to engage a locating feature of the fixture to hold a rotational position of the housing. The housing retainer is positionable on the interior of the fixture housing on the base engaging the spring element. The housing is rotatably positionable on the fixture by lifting upward on the housing to compress the spring element to disengage the locating features of the housing from the locating feature of the fixture and rotating the housing to a new position.

Receptacle connector for a light sensor assembly for a light fixture

A solar junction box for a solar panel includes a housing having a base and walls defining a cavity. The cavity extends along a primary axis and a secondary axis generally perpendicular to the primary axis. The base has a foil opening receiving a foil of the solar panel. A terminal is received in the cavity. The terminal has a protection device contact terminated to a protection device and a foil contact configured to be terminated to the foil. The foil contact is oriented within the cavity such that the foil contact is configured to be terminated to the foil when the foil extends into the foil opening along the primary axis and such that the foil contact is configured to be terminated to the foil when the foil extends into the foil opening along the secondary axis.

Terminal for solar junction box

A power wiring device includes a front housing having a power component at a user interface and a rear housing having a wire interface. The front and rear housings define a cavity. Control electronics are received in the cavity and include a circuit board and a controller coupled to the circuit board. The controller has control circuitry for controlling a power function of the power wiring device. The power component is coupled to the circuit board and affected by the power function. A plurality of power terminals are coupled to the circuit board. The power terminals each have a base, circuit board contacts extending from the base and being terminated to the circuit board, and wire contacts extending from the base. The wire contacts have quick connect interfaces for direct, quick connection to corresponding wires of building wiring.

Power wiring device

An electrical connector includes a housing having contact channels with electrical contacts received therein each having a poke-in spring beam configured to engage an electrical wire when poked-in to the housing. The electrical contact is movable between a resting position when no wire is present in the wire channel and a clearance position where the electrical contact allows the electrical wire to be removed from the wire channel. Pivot levers are held by the housing and are coupled to corresponding electrical contacts with a pivot end pivotably coupled to the housing and a push button end having a push button pressed to move the corresponding electrical contact to the clearance position. When the electrical wire is loaded into the wire channel, the electrical contact is positioned in a pinching position in which the spring beam pinches against the electrical wire in physical contact with the electrical wire.

Poke-in electrical connector

A wall plate connector system includes a wall plate terminal block extending from a wall plate base. The wall plate terminal block includes a terminal block body having a front, a rear, a first end and a second end. The terminal block body has contact channels and wire channels open to corresponding contact channels to receive electrical wires during a poke-in termination. Terminal contacts are received in corresponding contact channels and each include a poke-in spring beam and a header beam. A header assembly is removably coupled to the wall plate terminal block and includes header contacts configured to be terminated to a control circuit board. Each header contact has a mating beam. At least one of the mating beam and the header beam is a resiliently deflected spring beam configured for repeated mating and unmating at separable mating interfaces.
