A cutting tool has a first annular member at a proximal end portion of the cutting tool, a second annular member at a distal end portion of the cutting tool, and a plurality of curved side panels extending between the first annular member and the second annular member and coupled to the first and second annular members. The curved side panels are arranged about an axis of rotation of the cutting tool to form a hollow, tubular cutting structure, and include a plurality of cutting teeth oriented in a circumferential direction about the axis of rotation.

A bone screw cutting system can include a cutting assembly having a plurality of blades. The system can further include a position adjustment assembly coupled to the cutting assembly and configured to receive a bone screw blank and position the bone screw blank relative to the cutting assembly. The cutting assembly is configured to cut a bone screw blank received by the position adjustment assembly and to form a self-tapping end portion at a cut end of a resulting cut bone screw.

A saw blade includes a main body having a first surface, a second surface on an opposite side of the main body from the first surface, a proximal edge portion, a distal edge portion, and first and second side portions extending between the proximal and distal edge portions. The proximal edge portion is configured to be coupled to a rotatable hub such that the saw blade is held in a curved shape with the first surface defining an outer radius when the saw blade is coupled to the rotatable hub. The distal edge portion includes a plurality of cutting teeth, and the second surface includes a cutting structure configured such that a radius of an arc swept by the cutting structure when the saw blade is rotated is substantially equal to the outer radius of the first surface.

The main body can have a thickness that tapers along a perimeter of the main body from a first thickness at the base portion to a second thickness at the apical portion. A system is provided for preparing prosthetic hip implantation. The system includes a first broach, a second broach, and a trial neck having a body portion and a neck portion. A proximal end of the first broach comprises a first base having a first maximum area. The body portion can be releasably coupled to the proximal end of the first broach so as to define a first offset between a medial end of the neck portion and a longitudinal axis of the first broach, or releasably coupled to the proximal end of the second broach so as to define a second offset between the medial end of the neck portion and a longitudinal axis of the second broach. The first offset is smaller than the second offset.

System and method for preparing prosthetic hip implantation

A bone plate has a curved elongated body including a first end portion and a second end portion. The first end portion is laterally offset relative to the second end portion, and includes a plurality of screw holes. A first screw hole is defined by the second end portion. Each of the screw holes of the first end portion are laterally offset from a straight line extending in a direction along a length dimension of the bone plate and bisecting the first screw hole of the second end portion, and each of the screw holes of the first end portion are on the same side of the straight line as one another.

Disclosed shoe cover dispensers function in conjunction with a cartridge of pre-stacked shoe covers utilizing an improved loading process, making the process easier and faster for the user. The cartridge can be inserted into the dispenser and then expanded by the dispenser to achieve a stack of expanded shoe covers ready to be automatically released over a shoe when the shoe is placed inside the dispenser.

Disclosed herein are compositions for treatment of ear infection (such as bacterial and/or yeast infection) in human or veterinary subjects. In some embodiments the compositions include silver microparticles, for example about 0.1% silver microparticles, about 0.2% silver microparticles, or about 0.4% silver microparticles. Also disclosed are methods for treating ear infection in a subject utilizing one or more of the disclosed compositions, for example sequential application of compositions including about 0.1% silver microparticles, about 0.2% silver microparticles, and about 0.4% silver microparticles to the ear canal of the subject. In some examples, one or more of the disclosed compositions are provided in a kit.

System for treating ear infections

A low cost disposable reamer shaft is made from a rod or tube stock of stainless steel, Nitinol or fiber reinforced polymer having a precise outer diameter in the range of 4 to 14 millimeter and is cut to a shaft length of 250 to 400 millimeters. An attachment piece with male or female thread matching a spherical hollow or tapered hollow reamer is machined and glued with epoxy on one end of the rod of tube stock using a precision centerline aligning jig. An attachment piece for connecting to a drive power unit is machined and glued with epoxy to the other end of the rod or tube stock thus forming a low cost disposable reamer shaft that aligns the centerline of the shaft with that of the reamer. The shaft contacts the reamer at two attachment locations that are displaced from each other, providing precise centerline alignment.

A femoral stem for canines or humans is made bone-compliant by use of a thick sintered titanium body in a proximal bone contacting region and a polymeric or ceramic body in a distal bone contacting region of the femoral stem. An elastic modulus is thereby engineered to match that of bone tissue. The porous sintered titanium body is created by sintering spheres of titanium. It is bonded to a central solid biocompatible metallic body by diffusion bonding. The distal region has a biocompatible polymeric body or biocompatible cement body. When compression molded the distal region develops an elastic modulus matching that of bone tissue. The proximal region has a porosity designed to encourage bone ingrowth.

Bone-compliant femoral stem

A femoral hip stem explant system has an alignment body which is attached to two locations of a femoral bone and has several lockable collet type adjustment features to set the shaft of a reamer or end mill exactly in coincidence with the femoral bone cavity axis. The shaft of the end mill or reamer is supported by a sleeve member, which is inserted into a drill guide central aperture. The drill guide aperture is adjusted first and locked to be in line with the femoral bone cavity. Each of the sleeve members has the same mating outer diameter, which fits into the drill guide central aperture. Accordingly, the sleeve members can be interchanged into the drill guide aperture with shafts of differently sized reamers or end mills.

A cutting tool is provided with a cutting surface on a first side of the cutting tool and an attachment member on a second side of the cutting tool. The cutting surface can have cutting edges with characteristics that vary along the cutting tool. Novel methods of manufacturing such cutting tools are also provided.

Methods of forming medical reamers

A femoral implant includes a main shaft with a proximal end and a smooth distal end. A porous circumferential collar is provided between the proximal end and distal end, and a porous distally-extending portion extends distally from the collar to provide for additional bone ingrowth.
