Example embodiments and methods are directed to providing and otherwise handling user information within telecommunications networks, including wireless telecommunications networks. Example embodiments may include wireless networks having a Correlation Data Records Store (CDRS) that may store and update all user data needed by applications and services operating in example networks. Example methods may provide for collection and handling in the CDRS of all user information relied upon by applications and services operating in wireless networks, so as to reduce resource consumption by such applications and services.

Methods and systems for providing user information in telecommunications networks

In conjunction with establishment of a session between an access network and user equipment of a communication system, session-specific information is transmitted from the access network to the user equipment. The session-specific information transmitted from the access network to the user equipment comprises information to be utilized in an authentication protocol carried out between the user equipment and an authentication server of the system. For example, the session-specific information transmitted from the access network to the user equipment may comprise an identifier of a gateway coupled between the access network and the authentication server.

The present invention provides a method of providing a group paging message. One embodiment of the method includes providing a first message during a first portion of a predetermined time period. The present invention provides a method of determining characteristics of access classes in a wireless communication system. In one embodiment, a method is provided for implementation in an access network of a wireless communication system. The method includes mapping, at the access network, a plurality of priority levels to a plurality of access classes. Each access class is associated with at least one parameter used by access terminals to establish a wireless communication link with the access network. The method also includes transmitting, from the access network to a first access terminal, information indicating the mapping of the plurality of priority levels to the plurality of access classes in response to receiving a request to establish a communication session between the first access terminal and the access network.

There is provided a system and method for providing group calling in a wireless network. More specifically, in one embodiment, there is provided a method comprising receiving a request to participate a group call from a mobile device located in a wireless service area, determining whether a threshold number of other mobile devices in the wireless service area are participating in the group call, if the threshold number of the other mobile devices are participating in the group call, designating the requesting mobile device to receive a multicast transmission of the group call, and if the threshold number of other mobile devices are not participating in the group call, designating the requesting mobile device to receive a unicast transmission of the group call.
