The disclosed technology relates to self-locking electrical cable retainers. The cable retainer has a panel with a plurality of bores disposed within and extending longitudinally through the panel. Each bore of the plurality of bores is configured to receive individual cables. The cable retainer also has a plurality of latches. Each latch of the plurality of latches corresponds to a bore. Each latch has a first and second post. The first post is configured to bend the latch to a disengaged position through engagement with a corresponding cable as the cable is pushed longitudinally within the bore. The second post is configured to retain the corresponding cable within the respective bore when the latch returns to an engaged position.

Previously available elastomeric EMI gaskets provided for multiport RF connector assemblies have performance limiting drawbacks. Consequently, EM isolation provided by a previously available elastomeric EMI gasket is often inadequate. Various implementations disclosed herein include multiport RF connection arrangements that use a metal gasket arranged within at least a portion of an isolation space provided by a multiport RF connector. In some implementations, a multiport connection arrangement includes a substrate, a multiport RF connector and a fitted metal gasket. The substrate includes a first surface and a first plurality of connection ports. The multiport connector has a body that includes a second surface, a second plurality of connection ports, and includes an electromagnetic isolation boundary that defines an isolation space between at least two of the second plurality of connection ports terminating at the second surface. Mechanical fasteners are optional and are included to merely provide engagement, without substantial compressive force.

Previously available multiport connector pairings that use floating devices typically include relatively generous lead-in chamfers surrounding receiving ports in order to facilitate blind mating. As port density increases there is less room for lead-in chamfers, and in turn, blind mating becomes more challenging. By contrast, various implementations disclosed herein include multiport connection arrangements that include a floating connection device at least partially included within a port, and a radial centering mechanism arranged in combination with the floating connection device. The radial centering mechanism imparts a force that biases the floating connection device along the axis of the port. In some implementations, the radial centering mechanism imparts a substantially balanced axial force in order to bias the floating connection device. In some implementations, the radial centering mechanism imparts a substantially radial force in order to bias the floating connection device.

An apparatus includes a first electrical connector including a first housing, a contact element having a first portion connected to the first housing, and a first elastic element for supporting the first portion in the first housing. The first elastic element is deflectable to permit the contact element to move relative to the first housing. The apparatus also includes a second electrical connector including a second housing and a second elastic element that is deflectable to receive and retain a second portion of the contact element that protrudes from the first housing.

Apparatus and method for allowing alignment mismatch in electrical connections

A holder secures a linecard to a chassis. The holder acts as a releasable expansion bolt. To alleviate tolerance requirements for the linecard and/or chassis, the holder secures with minimal additional pressure being applied to force the linecard against the chassis. Rather than screwing a linecard face plate to the chassis card guide, the holder locks the linecard in place without requiring movement of the face plate against the chassis card guide. A gap may remain between the face plate and the chassis, substantially allowing for a desired amount of insertion of electrical connectors without adverse pressure or movement caused by the securing.

An electronic system includes a chassis, an air flow distribution assembly having a first set of baffles disposed within an intake volume of the chassis and a second set of baffles disposed in proximity to an air outlet of the chassis. The first set of baffles is configured to turn the flow of an air stream approximately 90 degrees, relative to an inlet flow direction of the air stream, toward circuit boards disposed within the chassis. The second set of baffles is configured as a flow splitter that receives the air stream from the circuit boards and partitions the air stream into separate portions prior to the air stream exiting via the air outlet. The use of both the first and second set of baffles redirects and distributes the air stream, flowing into the air inlet, in a substantially even manner across the circuit board component mounting surfaces of the circuit boards disposed within the system.

Method and apparatus for providing thermal management in an electronic device

A robust multi-port front panel RF (radio frequency) connector system design using a single lead screw is provided. The system allows for individual connector removal from the header while installed. Additionally, the system employs a user applied torque limiting feature for robustness. This individual connector removal can be provided by way of a slider bar which retains cables in place when in the 'closed' or 'locked' position.
