In a general aspect, a motion detection system detects gestures (e.g., human gestures) and initiates actions in response to the detected gestures. In some aspects, channel information is obtained based on wireless signals transmitted through a space by one or more wireless communication devices. A gesture recognition engine analyzes the channel information to detect a gesture (e.g., a predetermined gesture sequence) in the space. An action to be initiated in response to the detected gesture is identified. An instruction to perform the action is sent to a network-connected device associated with the space.

A system and method for controlling envelope tracking in a transmitter with closed loop power control, including up-converting and pre-amplifying a baseband signal to a pre-amplified RF signal, amplifying the pre-amplified RF signal, converting the envelope of the baseband signal into a shaped envelope signal, adjusting the gain of the pre-amplified RF signal, and adjusting the shape of the envelope signal in response to changes in the gain of the pre-amplified RF signal.

System and method for controlling envelope tracking in a transmitter with closed loop power control

In a radio receiver, a method of reducing second order distortion components, involves at a first mixer, mixing an input signal with an oscillator signal to generate an I component of a received radio signal; at a second mixer, mixing the input signal with a phase shifted oscillator signal to generate a Q component of the received radio signal; where the I and Q components of the received signal have a receive bandwidth; computing an estimate of second order distortion components as a power output of the I and Q components between approximately the receive bandwidth and twice the receive bandwidth of the received radio signals; and adjusting an operational parameter of the radio receiver to reduce the estimated value of second order distortion components. This abstract is not to be considered limiting.

Reduction of second order distortion in real time

Method and devices for use in a wireless device are described herein. A signal is received over a plurality of time segments, the signal over each time segment including a plurality of resource element blocks. For each time segment, at least one resource element block is selected from the plurality of resource element blocks of the time segment based on information determined about the time segment. For each time segment, a power value associated with the at least one resource element block of the time segment is determined. For each time segment, a gain adjustment value to adjust the gain of the time segment or one or more subsequent time segments of the signal is determined based upon the power value associated with the at least one resource element block.

There are disclosed systems and methods that dynamically vary the word length of data being transmitted through a digital interface. In one embodiment, the method comprises: (i) obtaining at least one parameter indicative of a quality of a signal; (ii) if the at least one parameter indicates that the quality of the signal is above a threshold, then transmitting the data as a number of digital words at a first predetermined word length; (ii) if the at least one parameter indicates that the quality of the signal is below the threshold, then transmitting the data as a number of digital words at a second predetermined word length. The second predetermined word length is different from the first predetermined word length.

System and method for transmitting data through a digital interface

A digital phase lock loop (PLL) circuit having a digital charge pump circuit for providing digital signals corresponding to a difference in phase between an internal clock corresponding to a voltage controlled oscillator, and a reference clock. These digital signals are processed by a digital processing circuit for providing digital control signals. Some of the digital control signals are converted into an analog control signal to provide fine control of the voltage controlled oscillator, while the remaining digital control signals provide coarse control of the voltage controlled oscillator.

The invention provides a system and method of generating a number of inputs to the mixer elements in a direct conversion (homodyne) receiver configuration using Virtual Local Oscillator (VLO) techniques. These generated inputs meet the requirement that they must have a fixed and stable phase-relationship, as well as being correctly related in terms of their power spectra relative to the operating radio (RF), intermediate (IF), and baseband frequencies of the system, and that when applied to the mixer elements they permit the mixer elements to create internally the effect of applying the Local Oscillator signal at a suitable frequency.
