A system and method for Displacement Current Phase Tomography. The present system invention obtains a linear relationship between mutual displacement current from a sensor (output current of the measuring electrode terminals) and the area (or volume) of an object to be imaged in the imaging domain. The system uses capacitance sensors and utilizes the phase of the measured current, in addition to the amplitude, to reconstruct an image.

Displacement current phase tomography for imaging of lossy medium

The present invention uses a plurality of magnetic field sources and magnetic field sensors mounted against a surface. Based on the mass of ferromagnetic material, such as steel, the magnetic field sensors detect variable magnetic field strength and this variance is proportional to the mass of ferromagnetic material being detected. An electronic device reads the magnetic field values and uses the information to quantify the ferromagnetic material in the surface or inside the volume of the construction component.

Differential magnetic field tomography

A system and method for imaging, monitoring, or measuring systems and processes utilizing only data provided from capacitance sensors. The present invention combines the multi-frequency method of both ECVT/AECVT and DCPT to image or measure processes and systems more efficiently and accurately than the methods alone. The present system analyzes capacitance and current phase acquired at multiple frequencies to determine a plurality of properties of single and multiphase systems all at once. The combined use of ECVT and DCPT in multiphase flow can also be extended to measure volume fraction and phase distribution of flows involving greater than three phases by using multiple frequencies for capacitance, current phase, or both.

Multi-dimensional approach to imaging, monitoring, or measuring systems and processes utilizing capacitance sensors

A stretchable capacitance sensor having multiple components for communicating signals to a data acquisition system for reconstructing an image of an area or object located in a subject being sensed, and for calculating the shape or conformity that it is in. The stretchable sensor consists of an inner layer of plates that provide the capacitance data, a middle layer of plates that provide the geometry-sensing data, and an outer layer of plates that serves as the shielding ground layer. The configuration of all three components can be variably changed to increase the capacitance data channels, increase or decrease flexibility and stretchability of the sensor, and increase the spatial resolution of the geometry sensing feature. The sensor is adapted to communicate signals to a data acquisition system for providing an image of the area or object between the capacitance plates.

Smart capacitance sensors for use with electrical capacitance volume tomography and capacitance sensing applications

The present invention uses a magnetic source and pressure sensors mounted against a surface. Based on the mass of metal inside a volume, the magnetic source is attracted to the surface and exerts pressure on the pressure sensor that is proportional to the mass of metal being detected. An electronic device reads the pressure value and uses the information to quantify the metal in the surface or inside the volume of the construction component.
