A remote watch (FIG.) design for a car security system, comprising of a display screen and basewith keypad. A user of the remote watch will not only be able to keep track of the time but also will be able to arm/lock, disarm/unlock and remotely start their vehicle by pushing specific buttons on the watch. It is common for people to lose or misplace their keys along with the keyless remote that is attached to the keys. Since the watch is placed on the users wrist, the user never has to worry about damage due to dropping it on a hard surface, in liquids (ex. water), or even losing their keyless remote as you would by having a keyless remote attached to keys or a key chain. If the user ever loses their keys, the remote watch will now allow the user to still have access to their vehicle without their keys, thus giving the user the freedom to store an extra set of keys in their vehicle in case they lose the original ones.

Vehicle security system

In a client-server computing system, where the server includes a storage device, a method is disclosed which is executed by the system for controlling and tracking client access to server software being executed by the system. The method includes initiating a first call from one or more clients to the server and instantiating a server component within a server application for each client call. The server components instantiate engine components, which log onto the storage device for assignment of session ID's. The session ID's are returned to the engine components and passed back to the server components and entered and attached to a shared persistent resource, thereafter breaking the link between each server component and each engine component. The session ID's are passed back to the respective client components for reference when a next call to the server is to be made and the link between each server component and each client component is broken. When a subsequent call is initiated from a client to the server, which includes a session ID, another server component is instantiated within the server application. The shared persistent resource is accessed and a request is made for the reference to the corresponding engine component, which provides access to the storage device and allows the server component to complete any work requested by the client. On completion of the work requested by each client, the link between the client and the server is broken.

Method and system for controlling and tracking client access to server software

A method and system for facilitating use of a tool in heterogeneous environments and application categories in a software development framework having a storage device. First, a context object is created for storing all intermediate information generated while the tool is being used. Next, the specific environment in which the tool is going to be used is identified information about the environment is stored in the context object. The specific tasks the tool typically performs are identified and searched for any previously accomplished tasks in the framework. The results of the search are stored in the context object. Information needed for the tool to operate is retrieved from the repository and the information is supplied as input files to the tool. The tool is run with the input files and the output derived is stored as a result of running the tool. The context object is updated by analyzing the output derived from the tool. Then, the analyzed output of the operation performed by the tool is stored in the repository for the environment.

Method and system for interfacing to a variety of software development tools

A method and system for updating the logical address of pointers used by a processor in a paged memory organization. A logical address associative memory provides a cache holding data about a paged segment of data words eliminating the need to fetch the data from main memory. Update index logic and insertion logic operate to update the logical address of an original pointer to indicate the logical next address of new data sought from main memory. The system is specifically designed to expedite the situation where the page referenced by the next address is different from that referenced by the original pointer's address.

System for pointer updating across paged memory

An associative memory system for logical addressing of memory segments using paged memory. The physical address of a targeted data word can be generated in one machine cycle if the segment logical base address and page index of the targeted word resides in an associated set of CAMs and RAMs. If the targeted word's logical base address and page index is not in the set of associated CAMs and RAMs, this information can be acquired at the most optimum rate for enabling data access. This rate may require several clock cycles.

A system for updating logical address data in pointers used by a processor in a computer system using paged memory. An Actual Segment Descriptor Associative Memory System (ASDAM) provides a dual cache memory for searching page table logical addresses and page index values which can, if available, provide a logical address, via a logical address RAM, to update a pointer in one machine cycle, with a new logical address. If the required data is not available in the dual cache memory, then other circuitry is operative to translate logical addresses into physical addresses permitting rapid access to main memory in order to supply the dual cache memory and logical address RAM with the required data.

The present invention comprises a structure and method that allows efficient retrieval of alternate paths to pursue in a microcode sequence. The present invention is useful in a computer system having a central processing unit, input/output units and a memory unit, each of which include means for generating condition signals indicative of the current status thereof, wherein the central processing unit includes a microsequencer comprising storage means for storing microinstructions for the central processing unit, the input/output units and the memory unit; means for storing the last microinstruction retrieved from the storage means; means for generating an alternate address to the storage means in response to the condition signals; means for producing an abort signal also in response to the condition signals; and, means for selecting either the microinstruction retrieved from the storage means or the last microinstruction in the means for storing in response to the state of the abort signal.

Multiple alternate path pipelined microsequencer and method for

An address couple associateive memory (ACAM) for a processor in a chip package provides a first address couple (ACL) CAM and a second absolute address list (AAL) CAM. An associated control unit guarantees coherency of word data in a cache RAM and main memory by indicating the invalidity or validity of each location of address data in the first CAM (ACL) and second CAM (AAL). Each loaction of data words in the cache RAM is associated with a corresponding location in the first (ACL) CAM and in the second (AAL) CAM. Address translation is provided in one clock cycle when writing to a location in main memory specified by a logical address couple.
