A magnetic angle sensor system for determining a shaft angle for one or more pivoting or rotating shaft means. The or each of said shaft means is provided with means adapted to generate a magnetic field, such that means can be energised in turn to induce a magnetic field in a detector. In a first step the sensor arrangement measures the background field in the absence of any current in the wire or solenoid, such that the angle of the shaft means can be determined from the magnetic field in the solenoid and the background field. The invention concerns the use of an evoked response field whether alternating or steady whereby the angle is determined by the difference in field when the evoking magnetic stimulus is present from when it is absent.

A device for measuring fluid flow, in particular, but not exclusively, wind and/or water speed and direction. The device includes magnetic measuring means having a core and first and second orthogonal windings arranged over the core, and deflector means adapted to be deflected in use by a fluid flow, the deflector means comprising a deflectable element resiliently connected to further magnetic field means, the deflector means being deflectably mounted with respect to the magnetic measurement means, which provides an output, the magnitude of which output corresponds to the magnitude of deflection of the deflector means, wherein the output is resolvable in two orthogonal axes such that a value for fluid flow direction can be determined.

Wind and water speed and direction measurement device

An angle sensor comprising a housing () having horizontal and vertical axes, which housing is adapted to receive a magnetic core () such that the core remains in substantially the same plane, e.g. by floating on a liquid (). The core is provided with two orthogonal windings (). In use, an electric field is applied across the vertical axis of the housing, which electric field induces a voltage in the windings, wherein the magnitude of the induced field is dependent on the angle of the magnetic core to the horizontal winding.

A bra structure comprising: (a) a frontal assembly including a pair of cup shaped support members; (b) a pair of shoulder straps each of which is adapted to extend forwardly and rearwardly over one shoulder of the wearer in use; (c) respective members for interconnecting the front and rear ends of each strap under the corresponding arm of the wearer. For each strap, the member for interconnecting the front and rear ends of the strap includes a rigid support member which is connected directly or indirectly to the rear end of the strap and also to the corresponding side of the frontal assembly, whereby the load of the frontal assembly is balanced between the front and rear ends of the strap.

A liquid drop rate controller for controlling flow of fluid from an infusion fluid reservoir to an intravenous infusion site which includes a cam means in the form of a wheel mounted eccentrically on a shaft which varies the compression on a flexible tube carrying the liquid; the controller senses the actual drip rate optically and compares this to a preselected desired drip rate and varies the compression accordingly. The comparison is accomplished electronically by the generation of a time base whose frequency is controlled by the selected drip rate; this time base is compared to the actual drip rate observed by the optical sensing means, and the cam means is controlled in relation to an error signal obtained through the comparison. The controller includes a separate comparison circuit which comes into operation at low drip rates so as to increase accuracy of control.
