A door handle and lock body housing combination is provided. The lock body housing (1) has a rectangular shaped base configuration (5) which has a length approximately equal to the length of a handle (3) which extends therefrom in a direction generally parallel to the planar base (5). The height and width of the lock body housing (1) is sufficient to wholly accommodate a lock barrel (7) which extends from a front face of the housing (1). The handle (3) is generally 'D'-shaped and wherein there is a greater distance behind the handle to the bottom of the planar base (5) at a central region (45) of the handle (3) than at the outer end regions (49) of the handle (3). The combination is formed of plastics material and lock security is enhanced by providing a metal base (5) to which a lock catch member (67) is attached, and a generally 'L'-shaped cross-section metal cover which has one leg extending over a leading face ( 23) of the housing (1) and through which the locking tongue (11) of the lock catch member (67) passes, and where the other leg extends over a front face of the housing (1) to incorporate a front face of the lock barrel (7).

A combination lock for a panel and a frame is provided. The panel and the frame are such that the panel can move relative to the frame and the combination lock is such that it can lock the panel relative to the frame. The panel has a toggle extending therefrom and the lock releasably prevents the toggle from moving so as to inhibit opening of the panel. The panel is a sliding panel such as a glass door or window.

A set of jaw pieces comprising at least two separate jaw pieces for use in a vice arrangement is provided in which the individual jaw pieces can move between a release position in which a work piece may be selectively inserted or removed and an operative position in which the work piece is securely held between at least two of the jaw pieces, each of the jaw pieces is provided with a flange or groove for interlocking with a complementary flange or groove of another jaw piece to facilitate relative movement of the jaw pieces when moving between the release and operative positions and each of the jaw pieces is provided with a relatively involutedly shaped portion such that when a shaped work piece having a similar involutedly shaped profile is placed between the opposing involutedly shaped jaw portions the work piece is securely held in such a manner that it may be machined without substantially damaging or distorting the work piece. A combination lock for a panel and a frame is provided. The panel and the frame are such that the panel can move relative to the frame and the combination lock is such that it can lock the panel relative to the frame. The panel has an arm member extending therefrom and the lock releasably prevents the arm member from moving so as to inhibit opening of the panel. In one embodiment the panel can be a swing-out type window. In another embodiment it can be a sliding panel such as a glass door or window.
