Disclosed is a multi-lumen mixing device that includes a first and second lumen constructed and arranged to separately pass a first and second reagent to a mixing chamber in the device, where the mixing chamber includes a mixing feature that mixes the first and second reagents. The disclosed multi-lumen mixing device may also include a port in fluid communication with the reaction mixing to permit the product of the combined reagents to be injected into a patent.

A prosthesis including a self-expanding stent, a graft body, and one or more sleeves is disclosed, in addition to methods of treatment using the prosthesis. The proximal and distal ends of the prosthesis may include one or more sleeves and one or more barbs. The sleeves may be removable or dissolvable, for example, upon exposure to an activating agent. The prosthesis may be used to treat lacerated vessels and transected vessels.

Dissolvable sleeve configurations to aid graft deployment

A sheath for retaining a prosthesis for use in repair of a damaged portion of a body vessel during an open surgical procedure. The prosthesis is of a type having a constricted condition for delivery to the damaged vessel portion and an expanded condition upon deployment from the sheath. The sheath includes a generally cylindrical body having a distal end portion, a proximal end portion, a passageway extending therethrough, and an elongated tab member at the proximal end portion. The tab member is positionable along the generally cylindrical body for initiating the splitting of the generally cylindrical body from the distal end portion of the sheath body toward the proximal end portion.

Splittable sheath

A device for delivering a prosthesis to a damaged body vessel includes first and second generally elongated members joined to each other along a length thereof. A distal end of each of the elongated members is insertable through an outer layer of skin to access the vessel. The distal ends are cooperatively maneuverable between a closed position for retaining the prosthesis during delivery to the vessel and an open position for releasing the prosthesis upon delivery. Each of the elongated members has a prosthesis retaining member disposed at a distal tip. The retaining members are configured for retaining the prosthesis in a constricted condition when the distal ends are in the closed condition for delivery of the prosthesis to the damaged vessel.

Delivery device and system for open surgical repair

A catheter assembly for use in extracorporeal treatment of a body fluid comprises a catheter body having a plurality of lumens extending therein. The catheter body has an aspiration port in communication with a first lumen for transporting fluid withdrawn from a body vessel to a treatment instrument, such as a dialyzer, and an infusion port in communication with a second lumen for return of treated fluid to the vessel. The catheter body includes a wing-like flap portion extending radially from the catheter body and defining the aspiration port. The flap portion is configured and arranged to space the aspiration port from a wall of the body vessel.

Winged catheter assembly

A catheter for use in the extracorporeal treatment of bodily fluids comprises a catheter body having a withdrawal port, an infusion port, and a plurality of lumens therein. The lumens comprise two or more withdrawal lumens that merge to form a single lumen proximal to withdrawal ports for transport of fluids withdrawn from a body vessel through the withdrawal port to an extracorporeal treatment unit, such as a dialyzer. The lumens also comprise an infusion lumen for infusion of treated fluids from the extracorporeal treatment unit through the infusion port into the vessel. The infusion lumen is disposed substantially at the center of the catheter body, while the withdrawal lumens extend longitudinally adjacent the infusion lumen along the catheter body length. A manifold may be provided at the proximal end of the catheter body to include the merger of the withdrawal lumens.

Multi-lumen catheter

A device for dilating an opening through the tracheal wall of a patient includes a loading dilator. A balloon catheter is received in the lumen of the dilator such that the balloon extends distal to the loading dilator distal end. The balloon is configured to radially dilate a portion of the tracheal wall upon inflation. The balloon includes retention structure along its outer surface such that upon inflation, the retention structure inhibits dislodgement of the balloon when the balloon is positioned across the tracheal wall. The retention structure may comprise a pair of spaced elements radially projecting from the outer surface of the balloon, and spaced along the outer surface such that each of the elements is disposed at an opposite side of the tracheal wall when the balloon is positioned along the tracheal wall opening.

Percutaneous dilational device having balloon retention mechanism

There are disclosed embodiments of a system for thermochemical tissue ablation. An ablation needle in the form of a cannula with a tip and a plurality of tubes or lumens therethrough is provided, with the tip forming a hollow mixing chamber without external openings. Liquid reagents are passed through the lumens or tubes to the mixing chamber, where an exothermic reaction results, heating the tip. The heated tip is used for tissue ablation. The reaction product can be at least partially evacuated from the mixing chamber through a tube or lumen that empties into a container.

Thermochemical ablation needle

A body cavity access tube assembly includes a body cavity access tube having an external surface. A collapsible protective sleeve is positioned over the external surface and has a proximal end attached to the body cavity access tube and a distal end attached to a repositioning device The repositioning device is supported on the external surface of the body cavity access tube and has a released configuration wherein the repositioning device and the distal end of the collapsible protective sleeve are movable relative to a longitudinal axis of the body cavity access tube. The repositioning device also has an engaged configuration wherein the repositioning device and the distal end of the collapsible protective sleeve have a fixed position relative to the longitudinal axis of the body cavity access tube.

Body cavity access tube assembly and method of use

A catheter for use in the extracorporeal treatment of bodily fluids comprises a catheter body having a withdrawal port, an infusion port, and a plurality of lumens therein. One of the lumens comprises a withdrawal lumen for transport of fluids withdrawn from a body vessel through the withdrawal port to an extracorporeal treatment unit, such as a dialyzer. Another lumen comprises an infusion lumen for infusion of treated fluids from the extracorporeal treatment unit through the infusion port into the vessel. The withdrawal port is positioned proximally from the infusion port along a length of the catheter body, and includes a generally helical profile.

Catheter port configuration

A medical device for aspirating and injecting fluid into a body cavity for use with first and second syringes is provided. The medical device includes an outer needle having an outer lumen formed therethrough. A distal end of the outer needle is configured to puncture tissue for insertion of the needle into the body cavity. An inner cannula is disposed within the outer lumen and has an inner lumen formed therethrough. A distal end of the inner cannula is disposed within the outer lumen. A hub has a first hub opening for fluidly connecting the first syringe to the outer lumen and a second hub opening for fluidly connecting the second syringe to the inner lumen. The inner cannula extends from at least one of the first and second hub openings to the distal end of the inner cannula. A method for treating a cyst is also provided.

Aspirating and injecting device with biased closed distal opening

A multi-lumen catheter assembly for use in the extracorporeal treatment of a body fluid of a patient. The catheter assembly includes an elongated catheter body having a pair of lumens extending therethrough, and a septum separating the lumens. The catheter body has an aspiration port in communication with a first lumen for transporting fluid withdrawn from a body vessel to a treatment unit, and an infusion port in communication with a second lumen for return of treated fluid to the vessel. The infusion port is positioned distal of the aspiration port along a length of the catheter body. A flexible member is provided, wherein the flexible member has an end receivable in the first lumen and another end engaged with the catheter body distal of the aspiration port. The flexible member is structured and arranged to maintain a spacing between the aspiration port and a wall of the vessel.

Multi-lumen catheter assembly

A safety needle assembly includes a needle holder assembly, a cannula fixed to the needle holder assembly, a protector positioned over the cannula and removable to expose the cannula, and a sheath. The sheath is pivotally mounted on the needle holder assembly to permit the sheath to be pivoted relative to the needle holder assembly in a direction toward the cannula from a non-covering position in which the cannula is exposed after removal of the protector to a covering position in which the cannula is covered by the sheath. The sheath can also be provided with flat surfaces adapted to successively engage a portion of the needle holder assembly as the sheath is pivoted relative to the needle holder assembly. The needle holder assembly can include a tubular syringe barrel or a tubular needle holder adapted to receive an evacuated tube.
