A social networking system user identifies one or more social networking system users authorized to present content items to the user via the social networking system ('authorized users'). When an additional user requests presentation of a content item to the user, the social networking system determines if the additional user is an authorized user. If the additional user is an authorized user, the content item is presented to the user. However, if the additional user is not an authorized user, the social networking system identifies the additional user to the user along with a request to identify the additional user as an authorized user. If the user identifies the additional user as an authorized user in response to the request, the content item is presented to the user.

Applying user-specified permissions to distribution of content items to social networking system users

In some implementations, a 360-degree camera includes two wide-angle lenses that provide a spherical view of a scene. The 360-degree camera is configured to be connected to a computing device for rendering the captured images. The user interface provides for the ability to present several camera views simultaneously, where each camera view is operated independently from the other camera views, such that the view may be changed during display by the user by changing the orientation. A plurality of rendering processes is executed in parallel to provide the data for each of the views and the output from each process is combined for presentation on the display. Additionally, a plurality of different combinations of multiple view layouts are provided, such as a circular view inside a rectangular view, a view that splits the display into equal separate views, and three or four independent camera views displayed simultaneously.

Some embodiments of a method for withdrawal a message include receiving, by a mobile device, an input to send a first message to a first recipient, the first message containing at least one image or video. The mobile device processes the first message for transmittal to the first recipient. In response to detecting a request to withdraw the first message within a timeout period, the mobile device determines that the first message has not been sent from the mobile device and terminates the processing of the first message for sending.

In some implementations, the camera lenses in the 360-degree camera are wide-angle lenses (e.g., 208&#xb0;) and corrections are performed to the projection of the 3D video data into a planar view to adjust the fisheye effect. A fisheye mapping function is selected that improves the distribution of sampling rays to present a natural view without blurred areas.

Some embodiments described herein provide an application that includes a scrollable in-line camera for capturing and sharing media content. In some embodiments, the in-line camera is provided in a scrollable view of the application. The scrollable view has three distinct user interface portions, including an in-line camera section, a preview section, and a shared content section. The application's user can use the in-line camera section to capture a photo or a video clip. The preview section is a portion of the UI that allows a user to review a photo or video captured with the in-line camera. The user can also use the preview section to either delete or accept the content. If the user chooses to delete the content, the content is removed from the preview section. If the user chooses to accept the content, the content appears in the content sharing section.

At least a portion of the first video image frame and the drawing can be combined to produce a first combined frame. The drawing can appear to overlay the first video image frame. The first combined frame can be stored in a video buffer.

Some embodiments provide an image-editing application. The image-editing application uploads an image to a remote image hosting website. From the image hosting website, the application receives data that identifies the image on the remote image hosting website. The application uses the received data to identify when a user of the remote image hosting website has commented on the image. The application displays the user comments from the remote image hosting website in the image-editing application.
