A system comprises automatic noise cancellation circuitry and interface circuitry operable to provide an interface via which a user can configure which sounds said automatic noise cancelling circuitry attempts to cancel and which sounds said automatic noise cancelling circuitry does not attempt to cancel. The interface circuitry may be operable to provide an interface via which a user can select a sound to whitelist or blacklist. The interface circuitry may be operable to provide an interface via which a user can increase or decrease an amount of noise cancellation that is desired. The interface circuitry may be operable to provide an interface via which a user can select from among three or more levels of noise cancellation.

An electronic device may comprise audio processing circuitry, pace tracking circuitry, and positioning circuitry. The pace tracking circuitry may be operable to selects a tempo of songs for playback, by the audio processing circuitry based on position data generated by the positioning circuitry, a desired tempo, and whether the songs are stored locally or network-accessible. The position data may indicate the pace of a runner during a preceding, determined time interval. The pace tracking circuitry may control the song selection and/or time stretching based on a runner profile data stored in memory of the music device. The profile data may include runner's distance-per-stride data. The electronic device may include sensors operable to function as a pedometer. The pace tracking circuitry may update the distance-per-stride data based on the position data and based on data output by the one or more sensors.

Methods and systems are provided for earphones with motion sensitive inflation. Information may be obtained relating to a user of an audio output element that outputs audio signals, with at least portion of the audio output element being in contact with the user. One or both of outputting of the audio signals and the contact between the audio output element and the user may be assessed based on the obtained information. Based on the assessing, one or more adjustments applicable to the audio output element may be determined, with at least one adjustment applying to positioning of the at least portion of the audio output element. The determining includes configuring the at least one adjustment to account for and/or counteract effects of the positioning on one or both of outputting of the audio signals and the contact between the audio output element and the user.

A method and system for a passive headset with dynamically controlled LEDs, where the method comprises, in a passive headset comprising speakers, light emitting diodes (LEDs), and LED driver circuitry: receiving an electrical signal that includes an audio signal and an LED control signal, separating the audio signal and the LED control signal, communicating the audio signal to the speakers, communicating the LED control signal to the LED driver circuitry, and generating a bias voltage for each of the one or more LEDs utilizing the LED driver circuitry and the output LED control signal. A light output of the one or more LEDs may be configured utilizing the generated bias voltage. The amplifier may include a mixer that sums an audio signal with a control signal.

Methods and systems are provided for audio output devices with user-based adjustable contact. Information, relating to a user of an audio output element having at least a portion in contact with the user, may be obtained, and conditions affecting outputting of audio signals via the audio output and/or the contact between the audio output element and the user may be assessed based on the obtained information. Adjustments applicable to the audio output element may be determined, based on the assessment of conditions, with at least one adjustment applying to positioning of the at least a portion of the audio output element relative to the user, and with the determining including configuring the at least one adjustment to account for and/or counteract effects of the conditions on one or both of the outputting of the audio signals and the contact between the audio output element and the user.

A method and system for a passive headset with dynamically controlled LEDs, where the method comprises, in a passive headset comprising speakers, light emitting diodes (LEDs), and LED driver circuitry: receiving an electrical signal that includes an audio signal and an LED control signal, filtering out the LED control signal from the received electrical signal and communicating a resulting output audio signal to the speakers, filtering out the audio signal from the received electrical signal and communicating a resulting output LED control signal to the LED driver circuitry, generating a bias voltage for each of the one or more LEDs utilizing the LED driver circuitry and the output LED control signal, and configuring a light output of the LED utilizing the generated bias voltage. The amplifier may include a mixer that sums an audio signal with a control signal.

Methods and systems are provided for earphones with motion sensitive inflation. In an audio system that comprises an audio output element that is applied directly to or is in contact with at least a portion of an ear of a user of the audio system, one or more adjustments to positioning of the least portion of the audio output element relative to the ear of the user may be determined and applied. The one or more adjustments may be determined as to account for or counteract one or more conditions affecting the outputting of the audio signals and/or contact between the audio output element and the one ear of the user. The one or more adjustment may be applied by modifying characteristics of one or more positioning components of (or coupled to) the audio output element. The one or more positioning components comprise at least one inflation-based component.
