The present invention relates to phenol containing disinfectants that have superior broad-spectrum antimicrobial efficacy versus traditional chemistry such as quaternary ammonium-containing disinfectants or aliphatic alcohols. Hydrotropic surfactants are utilized in combination with generally environmentally friendly phenol containing compounds such as ortho-benzyl parachlorophenol (OBPCP), ortho phenylphenol (OPP), or parachloro-meta-cresol (PCMC) in the presence of suitable solvents such as an aliphatic alcohol and also in the presence of an inorganic acid, such as phosphoric acid. The solutions are free of para tertiary amylphenol (PTAP), have a low pH and are very stable with respect to gamma irradiation. They can be used with respect to hard surface disinfection, and also as a tuberculocide, a fungicide, a bactericide, and a virucide.

A non-aerosol, foaming high alcohol content hand sanitizer is provided which has excellent antimicrobial activity and tolerance for organic load and excellent residual activity, as well as enhanced moisturization and skin-feel properties over currently marketed alcohol-based sanitizers. The inventive composition achieves an unexpectedly large amount of quality, stable foam even in the presence of significant quantities of skin conditioning agents through the use of novel silicone surfactants and achieves enhanced and prolonged antimicrobial efficacy through the combination of high alcohol content and activity enhancing components.

Non-aerosol foaming alcohol hand sanitizer

A low odor, liquid disinfectant composition comprising multiple components, which, upon mixing, provide an aqueous solution comprising low levels of peracetic acid for use in decontaminating articles and surfaces contaminated with bacteria, viruses, fungi and other biological contaminants such as spores, including, but not limited to,(). The disinfectant composition is prepared just prior to use by combining two or more separately packaged components.

Low odor, hard surface sporicide

A broad spectrum disinfectant includes a quaternary ammonium halogen, an alkaline agent, a chelating agent, a nonionic surfactant coupler, at least one alkoxylated nonionic surfactant, and water or any aliphatic alcohol. The disinfectant composition is phenol-free, is effective in eradicating microorganisms such as various fungi, and is stable to gamma-irradiation.

Broad spectrum disinfectant

An aqueous, alkaline cleaning composition for use on hard-to-clean soils, encountered in pharmaceutical, personal care, food and cosmetic manufacturing, comprising a source of alkalinity, a biodegradable surfactant system further comprising one or more surfactants, one or more hydrotropes, and a UV-analyzable surfactant, and a biodegradable chelating agent. The composition offers unique advantages of stability over the expected shelf life, low-foaming property, phosphate-free and biodegradable components, and unexpectedly enhanced antimicrobial, including virucidal, activity in one cleaning composition. The UV-analyzable surfactant allows for validation of cleaning processes using known techniques for manufacturers who are required or desire to do so.
