A wireless communications device comprising a communications section adapted to communicate with a remote device using at least two wireless carriers, a signal detection section for detecting a control signal in a communications path between the wireless communications device and the at least two wireless carriers, said signal detection section generating a detection result, and a control section for evaluating the detection result and setting one of the at least two carriers as a primary communications path for communication with the remote device and one of the at least two carriers as a secondary communications path for communication with the remote device based upon the evaluation.

Cellular radio communicator and method for configuring the same

A system and method for false alarm prevention in unstable locations is presented. In one embodiment, the method comprises activating an asset sensor and a reference sensor, detecting motion in the asset sensor, determining if the reference sensor detects motion, and preventing transmission of an alarm if the reference sensor detects the motion. In another embodiment, the method comprises activating an asset sensor and a reference sensor, detecting motion in the asset sensor and transmitting acceleration data in accordance with the detected motion, sensing local acceleration data from the reference sensor, and signaling an alarm if a difference between the transmitted acceleration data and the local acceleration data is greater than a predetermined threshold. The reference sensor can be mounted in a control panel, and the asset and reference sensors can be enrolled in the control panel.

Method for inertial asset protection on vehicles and for false alarm prevention in unstable locations

A method is presented for providing alarm notification and two-way voice communication for a hybrid data/voice system. In one embodiment, the method comprises sending an alarm notification from a communication device to an alarm forwarding service, recognizing an ID of the communication device, using said ID to create a three-way call among the alarm forwarding service, the communication device and a central station, and initiating a two-way voice communication between said communication device and the central station. In another embodiment, the method comprises sending an alarm notification from a communication device to an alarm forwarding service, establishing a connection from said alarm forwarding service to said communication device, using said connection to create a three-way call among the alarm forwarding service, the communication device and a central station, and initiating a two-way voice communication between the communication device and the central station.
