A prosthetic delivery system may include a plurality of concentric shafts and an actuator mechanism for actuating one or more of the concentric shafts. A stop mechanism may be coupled to the actuator mechanism. The stop mechanism prevents advancement or retraction of at least some of the shafts beyond a predetermined position unless the stop mechanism is released. A second stop mechanism may be included in the system for controlling another of the shafts. A plurality of filaments may be coupled to a prosthesis carried by the delivery system and actuation of the filaments may be used to control deployment or retrieval of the prosthesis.

Retrievable prosthesis delivery system

This document provides devices and methods for the treatment of heart conditions. For example, this document provides prosthetic heart valves and transcatheter heart valve replacement methods. The prosthetic heart valves can be configured into a low-profile configuration for containment within a small diameter delivery sheath. The prosthetic heart valves include can include a valve member attached to a stent frame. In some embodiments, the valve member is a molded biomaterial with a novel shape and resulting performance characteristics. Localized protective covering members can be attached to the stent frame to prevent the valve member from contacting the stent frame as the valve member cycles between its open and closed configurations.

Prosthetic heart valves

A prosthetic valve may be used to repair a diseased or otherwise damaged heart valve such as the mitral valve. The prosthetic valve may include atraumatic anchor tabs which may be radiopaque or echogenic. A cinching mechanism may also be coupled to the prosthetic valve to control radial expansion of the prosthetic valve. The cinching mechanism may include a wire lasso or a belt. The prosthetic valve may include an expandable frame which has a reduced number of strut connection nodes to allow a lower profile collapsed configuration and tighter crimping. The commissure posts of the prosthetic valve may extend beyond an edge of the ventricular skirt portion of the device.

Controllably deployable prosthetic valve

The present invention provides an atherectomy catheter which has a cutting element that is able to cut both soft tissue and hard tissue, and methods of cutting material from a blood vessel lumen using a rotating cutting element. The cutting element has a sharp cutting edge that surrounds a cup-shaped surface and at least one surface of abrasive material. The cup-shaped surface directs the cut material into a tissue chamber. The cutting edge and the cup-shaped surface together are well suited to cut and remove relatively soft tissue from the blood vessel. The abrasive material surface in combination with the cutting element is well suited to abrade and remove hard material from the blood vessel.
