A workflow for fracturing a subterranean formation includes providing fracturing databases or models for the hydrocarbon wellbore, selecting one or more fracturing fluid systems for fracturing the subterranean formation based on the fracturing databases or models and recommending at least one of the one or more selected fracturing fluid systems for fracturing the subterranean formation. Additionally, a workflow controller for fracturing a subterranean formation includes a workflow processing unit having fracturing models or databases to determine functional aspects of one or more fracturing fluid systems to provide a fracturing fluid system recommendation for the subterranean formation, and a fracturing fluid delivery unit that applies the fracturing fluid system recommendation to the subterranean formation. A hydrocarbon wellbore fracturing system for a subterranean formation is also provided.

System and method for selecting fluid systems for hydraulic fracturing

The present disclosure relates to oil and gas well proppant compositions and methods for enhancing the conductivity of a propped fracture formed during a hydraulic fracturing operation. The method introduces a micro-proppant slurry prepared with slickwater containing both a low-density and a conventional micro-proppant during injection of the pad fluid stages to prop the natural and induced microfractures open and then injecting a proppant slurry prepared with slickwater containing low-density proppant and conventional frac sand during proppant slurry stage to prop the dominant fractures or large branches, provide open flow paths to keep them connective with the wellbore.

Methods for enhancing effective propped fracture conductivity

A method of servicing a wellbore in a subterranean formation comprising placing a wellbore servicing fluid in the wellbore and/or subterranean formation, wherein the wellbore servicing fluid comprises a hydrophobically modified relative permeability modifier, an oxygenated alkylating agent, and an aqueous base fluid, and allowing the wellbore servicing fluid to modify the permeability of at least a portion of the wellbore and/or subterranean formation.

Wellbore servicing materials and methods of making and using same

Embodiments herein include methods comprising providing a sealant composition comprising an aqueous base fluid, a crosslinkable polymer composition, and a density segregation prevention agent, wherein the crosslinkable polymer composition comprises a crosslinkable organic polymer and a crosslinker; introducing a particulate density reducing agent into the sealant composition, wherein the particulate density reducing agent causes the sealant composition to adopt a reduced density as compared to the sealant composition without the particulate density reducing agent, thereby creating a reduced density sealant composition; introducing the reduced density sealant composition into a subterranean formation; and crosslinking the reduced density sealant composition into a gel to form a seal in the subterranean formation.

Sealant compositions for use in subterranean formation operations

Methods including deactivation and activation of permeability modifiers for use in subterranean formation operations. A first treatment fluid may be introduced into a subterranean formation having a first treatment zone having a first aqueous permeability value, the first treatment fluid comprising a first aqueous base fluid and a deactivated permeability modifier. The deactivated permeability modifier may be adsorbed onto a surface of the first treatment zone. A second treatment may thereafter be introduced into the subterranean formation, the second treatment fluid comprising a second aqueous base fluid and a cyclodextrin compound. The second treatment fluid may contact the deactivated permeability modifier to activate the permeability modifier by complexing the deactivating surfactant with the cyclodextrin compound, thereby forming an activated permeability modifier adsorbed onto the surface of the first treatment zone and reducing the aqueous permeability of the first treatment zone.

Deactivation and activation of permeability modifiers for use in subterranean formation operations

Suppressing passage of an aqueous fluid in a subterranean formation in preference to passage of an oleaginous fluid can often be desirable. Methods for suppressing the passage of an aqueous fluid in a subterranean formation, particularly a carbonate formation, can comprise: providing a treatment fluid comprising a carrier fluid and a relative permeability modifier comprising a reaction product of 1) an acrylamide polymer, any copolymer thereof, any derivative thereof, any salt thereof, or any combination thereof, and 2) a plurality of amine-containing compounds or any salt thereof, each amine-containing compound containing a primary amine, a secondary amine, or any combination thereof, and the amine-containing compounds being randomly reacted with at least a portion of the amide groups of the acrylamide polymer; and introducing the treatment fluid into a subterranean formation.

Reaction products of acrylamide polymers and methods for use thereof as relative permeability modifiers

Compositions and methods for treating a water and hydrocarbon producing subterranean formation to reduce the water permeability of the formation without reducing the hydrocarbon permeability of the formation are provided. In one embodiment, the method includes providing a treatment fluid including a base fluid and a relative permeability modifier including a polymer of at least one hydrophilic monomer and at least one hydrophobically modified hydrophilic monomer, wherein the polymer includes a sulfonate moiety, and introducing the treatment fluid into at least a portion of a subterranean formation.

Sulfonated relative permeability modifiers for reducing subterranean formation water permeability

A hydration acceleration surfactant may be utilized in conjunction with high molecular weight polymers in forming high viscosity, aqueous based treatment fluids. Forming such fluids may involve mixing an aqueous base fluid, a hydration acceleration surfactant, a crosslinker polymer, and a base polymer, thereby yielding a treatment fluid, wherein the base polymer is provided in the form of a first polymeric emulsion before mixing and/or the crosslinker polymer is provided in the form of a second polymeric emulsion before mixing. Further, such fluids may be useful in subterranean operations to perform for at least one function within the wellbore and/or the subterranean formation including bridge a fracture, provide fluid loss control, seal a rock surface, enable fluid diversion, plug a void, reduce formation permeability, control water production, and any combination thereof.
