A display device includes a first display panel including N input/output (I/O) pads [I/Oto I/O] at a first side of the display device. A first display driver is operatively connected to the N I/O pads of the first display panel at the first side of the display device. A second display panel includes the N I/O pads at the first side of the display device. I/O pads I/Oand I/Oare a same type of I/O pad for M=0 to M=P for the first display panel and the second display panel. A second display driver, having a same configuration as the first display driver is operatively connected to the N I/O pads of the second display panel at the first side of the display device. A hinge pivotably connects the first display panel to the second display panel.

An electronic device and method is disclosed that determines a fold angle and/or opening state of a foldable electronic device using a self-capacitance measurement of an electrode disposed in the foldable electronic device. Using self-capacitance to determine the opening state provides an accurate result and makes efficient use of power of the foldable electronic device. Further, the technique offers flexibility in the implementation, as it can make use of electrodes, sensors, and/or antennas already present in many foldable electronic devices.

Conductive trace routing techniques for display and bezel sensors are described. In one or more implementations, an apparatus includes display sensors, bezel sensors, and a plurality of conductive traces. The display sensors are configured to detect proximity of an object and are arranged in conjunction with a display area of a display device to support interaction with a user interface displayed by the display device. The bezel sensors are configured to detect proximity of an object and are disposed in a bezel that at least partially surrounds the display device and is outside the display area. The plurality of conductive traces are disposed between the display and bezel sensors and communicatively couple the display sensors and the bezel sensors to one or more computing components that are configured to process inputs received from the display sensors and the bezel sensors.

Flexible touch sensor techniques are described. A touch sensitive device includes a printed circuit board (PCB) having a touch controller and a flexible printed circuit having a flexible substrate and touch sensors formed thereon using a plurality of flexible traces arranged to detect proximity of an object. The plurality of flexible traces are extended along the flexible substrate to directly terminate onto a connector of the printed circuit board thereby forming a communicative coupling between the touch sensors and the touch controller, which thereby permits the touch controller to determine a location of the proximity of the object in relation to the touch sensors.

Binding techniques are described that are configured to bind an apparatus for operation with a computing device. A computing device may include one or more object detection sensors that are configured to detect proximity of an object, a wireless communication module configured to support wireless communication, and one or more modules implemented at least partially in hardware. The one or more modules are configured to perform operations that include recognizing a first event as involving detection of proximity of an apparatus by the one or more object detection sensors, recognizing a second event as involving receipt of a wireless communication by the wireless communication module from the apparatus, and responsive to the recognizing of the first and second events, causing the apparatus to be bound for operation with the computing device such that the apparatus is configured to initiate one or more host side commands of the computing device.

One or more sensors are disposed to sense user inputs in an active display area as well as user inputs in an extended area that is outside of the active display area. Data for user inputs, such as gestures, may include data from user inputs sensed in both the active display area and outside of the active display area. A device that performs automatic red-eye correction on a digital image saves the original image data and a location indicator from each portion of the digital image on which red-eye correction is performed to facilitate the subsequent undoing of red-eye correction. Red-eye correction may be undone at any time after red-eye correction has been performed by replacing the corrected image data with the original image data that is stored with the corrected digital image, and the device on which red-eye correction is undone may be distinct from the device that captured the digital image and from the device that performed red-eye correction on the digital image.

A power management method and associated apparatus allows a device to make maximum use of its battery before replacement or recharging.
