A remote burner monitoring system including one or more burners each including integrated sensors, a data collector corresponding to each of the burners for receiving and aggregating data from the sensors of the corresponding burner, and a local transmitter corresponding to each of the data collectors for transmitting the data, a data center configured and programmed to receive the data from the local transmitters corresponding to the one or more burners, and a server configured and programmed to store at least a portion of the data, to convert the data into a display format, and to provide connectivity to enable receipt and transmission of data and the display format via a network including at least one of a wired network, a cellular network, and a Wi-Fi network.

Remote burner monitoring system and method

A process for treating a workpiece having the steps of: altering the temperature of a workpiece surface wherein at least one condition selected from the group of: thermal treatment rate, relative motion between the surface and said thermal treatment rate, coolant flow rate onto said surface, heating flow rate onto said surface and the relative speed between the heating means or the cooling means and the surface is controllable; simultaneously measuring temperatures at a plurality of locations over the surface of the workpiece; determining an average temperature of the temperatures measured; comparing the average temperature to preselected minimum and maximum temperatures for the workpiece; and automatically adjusting at least one of, the controllable conditions if said average temperature is not between the preselected minimum and maximum temperatures for the workpiece. A system for performing a thermal treatment process and the resulting product are also provided.

Treatment method, system and product

Heating metal articles by direct surface impingement of an oxy-fuel flame without causing damage, or surface melting of the articles being heated. Flame contact is cycled to achieve maximum allowable rate of heat introduction thereby substantially reducing the time and energy required to achieve the final desired piece temperature.
