A method for producing dried multilayer paper is provided comprising dewatering a first aqueous fibrous suspension, thereby creating a first fibrous web; dewatering a second aqueous fibrous suspension, thereby creating a second fibrous web; spraying one or more of a first fibrous web and a second fibrous web with a spray solution or spray suspension, thereby producing at least one sprayed fibrous web; assembling the first fibrous web with the second fibrous web; dehydrating the resulting layer compound by pressing; then dehydrating by supplying heat, which creates the dried multilayer paper. The spray solution or spray suspension contains water and at least one water-soluble polymer P. The polymer P is obtained by polymerizing: 40 to 85 mol % of a monomer of Formula I in which R=H or C-C-Alkyl; and 15 to 60 mol % of one or more ethylenically unsaturated monomers.

Method for producing multi-layer paper

A method to produce dried single-layer or multi-layer paper is disclosed. The method comprises, for a single-layer paper, preparing and spraying a partially dehydrated first fibrous web with a spray solution or suspension to give a sprayed partially dehydrated first fibrous web, and dehydrating the sprayed partially dehydrated first fibrous web by applying heat to form a dried single-layer paper; or, for a multi-layer paper, preparing and spraying a partially dehydrated layer compound with a spray solution or suspension to form a sprayed layer compound, and dehydrating the sprayed layer compound by applying heat to form a dried multi-layer paper. The spray solution or suspension comprises water and at least one water-soluble polymer P, which is obtained by polymerizing: (i) a monomer of formula HCCHNHC(0)R, where Ris H or C-C- alkyl; and (ii) one or more ethylenically unsaturated monomers different from monomer (i).

Method for producing single-layer or multi-layer paper

Process for the Manufacture of Paper and Paperboard The present invention relates to a process of making paper or paperboard in which a cellulosic thin stock is provided and subjected to one or more shear stages and then drained and a moving screen to form a sheet which is dried, wherein the process employs a retention system which is applied to the thin stock, said retention system comprising as components i) a blend of different cationic polymers and ii) a microparticulate material, in which the blend of cationic polymers comprises, a) a cationic polymer having a charge density of from 0.5 and below 3 mEq per gram and a molar mass of greater than 700,000 Da, which cationic polymer is selected from polymers containing vinyl amine units and polyethylenimine, b) a cationic polymer having a charge density of below 3 mEq per gram and an intrinsic viscosity of at least 3 dl/g, wherein one of the components of the retention system is dosed into the thin stock after the final shearing stage and the other is dosed into the thin stock before the final shearing stage.

Process for the manufacture of paper and paperboard

The present invention concerns a process of making paper, board or paperboard in which a cellulosic thin stock is provided and subjected to one or more shear stages and then drained on a moving screen to form a sheet which is dried, wherein the process employs a treatment system which is applied to the thin stock, said treatment system comprising as components, a) a cationic organic polymer of charge density of at least 3.0 meq/g with a molar mass Mw of up to 3 million Daltons or poly aluminum chloride (PAC), b) a cationic polymer having an average molar mass Mw of at least 500,000 Daltons and a charge density not exceeding 4.0 meq/g; c) a microparticulate material; in which components (b) and (c) are added to the cellulosic thin stock after the last shear stage before the head box and component (a) is added to the cellulosic thin stock before the said last shear stage.
