An acetabular reamer has a rotatable drive shaft extending along a first longitudinal central axis. A second housing surrounds at least a portion of the drive shaft, the first housing having a gripping arm. A drive motor in a first housing is coupled to a first end of the rotatable drive shaft for rotating the drive shaft. A reamer head is rotatably coupled to a second end of the rotatable drive shaft, the reamer head rotatable about a second axis extending at an acute angle with respect to the rotatable drive shaft first longitudinal. A releasable connector couples the first and second housing and prevent relative rotation between the first housing and the second housing.

Acetabular reamer

A cutting block assembly comprising first and second interlocking blocks for resecting a distal femur. The first block has a first surface for providing a guiding surface for making an anterior chamfer cut on the femur and a second surface for providing a guiding surface for making a posterior chamfer cut on the femur. The second block is adapted to detachably couple to the first block. The second block has a first surface for providing a guiding surface for making an anterior cut on the femur and a second surface for providing a guiding surface for making a posterior cut on the femur.

Femoral cutting block

A hybrid prosthetic femoral component has an outer bearing surface for engaging a tibial bearing and an inner surface for engaging a prepared distal femur. The inner surface having a distal surface, an anterior surface and a posterior surface, wherein said posterior surface has a first surface structure for allowing tissue ingrowth and the anterior and distal surfaces having a second surface structure for contacting bone cement. The first and second structure have different surface characteristics with different properties wherein the first surface structure is a porous surface and the second surface is a non-porous textured surface. The hybrid prosthetic femoral component further comprises an anterior chamfered surface and a posterior chamfered surface wherein the posterior chamfered surface includes the first surface structure and the anterior chamfered surface includes the second surface structure.

Hybrid femoral implant

A cutting block assembly comprising first and second interlocking blocks for resecting a distal femur. The first block has a first surface for providing a guiding surface for making an anterior chamfer cut on the femur and a second surface for providing a guiding surface for making a posterior chamfer cut on the femur. The second block is adapted to detachably couple to the first block. The second block has a first surface for providing a guiding surface for making an anterior cut on the femur and a second surface for providing a guiding surface for making a posterior cut on the femur. In another embodiment, the cutting block assembly is a four-in-one (4-in-1) cutting block assembly comprising a first block and second block attached to each other to form a first slot for making an anterior chamfer cut and a second slot for making a posterior chamfer cut.

An apparatus for guiding a surgical instrument for shaping the end of a bone includes an alignment plate which has a contact surface and is mounted with the contact surface in a plane substantially perpendicular to the physical axis of the bone and in contact with the bone. A cutting guide is mounted to the alignment plate for rotation about an axis which is substantially parallel to the mechanical axis. The cutting guide includes an instrument-receiver which maintains the surgical instrument in a cutting plane which is substantially parallel to the contact plane and at a predetermined distance from it.
