An approach is provided that retrieves organization information that pertains to a computer system operated by an organization and a set of current cyber security threat data that pertains to the organization. A security simulation is generated based on the current cyber security threat data and the organization data with the simulation including any number of decision-linked simulation segments. The simulation is then performed during which a user makes decisions based on the decision-linked simulation segments. The result of the simulation is an evaluated cyber security threat that corresponds to the organization's computer system.

Testing simulation sequence using industry specific parameters

A method, system, and computer-readable storage media for granting a device access to a managed group are disclosed. Identification information may be exchanged between a management device in the managed group and a managed device through a secure first channel. If the identification information is verified by the management device, the managed device may be granted access to the managed group through the secure first channel. If access is granted, the managed device may access the managed group through a secure communication session on a network. If the identification information is not verified, the management device may send a cryptographic key to the managed device through the secure first channel. The cryptographic key may be used to create an encrypted communication session between the managed device and management device over the network.

Embodiments of the invention may be used to enhance the presentation of a virtual environment for certain users, e.g., a visually impaired user. Because users may visit, and revisit, locations within the virtual environment, the state of elements in the virtual environment may change. Accordingly, audible descriptions of an object, person or environment, may be adjusted to prevent redundant or unnecessary descriptions. For example, when the user encounters a given element a second time, rather than describe each characteristic of the element, only changes to the characteristics of the element are described.

Describing elements in a virtual world based on changes since a previous encounter

Embodiments of the invention include a method and apparatus for describing elements within a virtual world to a user of the virtual world. An element may be identified based on a position of an avatar within the virtual world. The avatar is a representation of the user within the virtual world. A tag associated with the element is selected. The tag includes a description of the element. The element is described to the user based on the description.

Accessibility in virtual worlds using tags

A method and computer program product are provided for audiating the occurrence of debugger events within a software debugger. The method begins by assigning a sound characteristic to a debugger event occurring within a software program under debug. Next, the audiation of the sound characteristic associated with the event is optimized to maximize performance of the debugger. Finally, the optimized sound characteristic associated with the event is played upon the occurrence of the event.

Embodiments of the invention provide a method, apparatus, and program product to verify a program that includes a plurality of sections with a computing system that is configured to process a plurality of threads of execution. The method comprises verifying and executing a first section of the program utilizing a first thread of execution in response to activation of the program and determining a second section of the program to execute subsequent to the first section. The method further comprises verifying the second section utilizing a second thread of execution in parallel with the execution of the first section. Another embodiment of the invention provides a method of compiling program that includes program code by grouping the program code into sections based upon the execution time of the program code and based upon which program code is most commonly executed.

Embodiments of the invention provide techniques for presenting a virtual world to sight-impaired users. In one embodiment, the user may indicate an area of focus within the virtual world. The user may then be provided with audio descriptions of objects or avatars included within the area of focus. The descriptions may be provided at varying levels of detail, enabling the user to 'zoom in' on particular items of interest. Further, the user may select an audio description to navigate an avatar to the location of the corresponding object.

Directional audio viewport for the sight impaired in virtual worlds

An assistive reading device for visually impaired users comprises a sheet-like member containing a photo-active material. The sheet-like member responds to light patterns representing data from a patterned light source to form tactile shapes on its surface. The visually impaired user obtains information by touching the tactile shapes. Preferably, the photo-active material is a layer of cross linked azobenzene liquid-crystalline polymers. The assistive reading device preferably is an output device for a computer.
