A pulley assembly for a steering assembly includes a motor disposed within a motor housing and having a motor shaft extending therefrom. The pulley assembly also includes a motor face plate having a motor pilot component extending therefrom in the same direction as the motor shaft extends away from the motor, the motor shaft extending through a hole in the motor face plate. The pulley assembly further includes an idler pulley post protruding from the motor housing and through the motor face plate in the substantially same axial direction of the motor shaft, the idler pulley post being radially offset from the motor shaft. The pulley assembly yet further includes a housing flange having a pilot bore to accommodate at least a portion of the motor pilot and the idler pulley post.

A rack bar assembly for a rack electric power steering system is provided. The rack bar assembly includes a first rack bar extending axially. The rack bar assembly also includes a second rack bar extending axially, wherein the first rack bar and the second rack bar are spaced a radial distance from each other and oriented parallel to each other.

A power-assist assembly comprising a housing including a drive axle portion extending between a pair of extension sleeve connection ends spaced along a first axis and an input gear portion extending along a second axis transverse to the first axis. A gear assist housing is connected to the input gear portion. A boot assembly connected to at least one of the extension sleeve connection ends. The boot assembly includes an extension sleeve connected to the extension sleeve connection end, a boot sleeve connected to the extension sleeve and spaced from the extension sleeve connection end of the housing by at least a portion of a length of the extension sleeve, and a boot retaining ring connected to the boot sleeve opposite the extension tube.
