A redundant display uses row and column drivers to control an active matrix of transistors arranged in a pixel array. Row drivers arranged on respective sides of the pixel array control the voltage across entire rows of the pixel array in tandem. One or more sets of column drivers control the voltage across columns of the pixel array. One or more columns of switching elements are disposed between left and right portions of the pixel array. During normal operation, the column of switching elements connects left row portions with right row portions, such that an image is displayed across the entire pixel array. Responsive to a malfunction of row drivers on one side of the pixel array, the column of switching elements isolates the left row portions from the right row portions, such that the image may be displayed only on the other side of the pixel array.

Redundant display systems and methods for use thereof in safety critical applications

A computer system and process for automated identification, processing and issuance of digital certificates uses web server domain-control vetting to issue web server certificates. A requestor requests a web server certificate from a certificate authority and uses approver email address or addresses to request that the approver approve issuance of the certificate. If approved, the certificate authority accepts the request, creates and signs the certificate, and the signed certificate is sent to the requestor.

Methods and systems for automated authentication, processing and issuance of digital certificates

A method and apparatus for simultaneously training multiple trainees in the use of simulated weapons, which method defines a set of image shapes and assigns each image shape to a different simulated weapon capable of generating a light beam, at a selected wavelength, having the assigned image shape. By collecting data under control conditions and evaluating a set of parameters that uniquely identifies each image shape and by comparing the resulting 'control parameters' to the same set of parameters evaluated under training conditions (thereby, producing 'on-line parameters') each image shape produced during a training session is identified and associated with a simulated weapon. The method enables an expanded number of trainees to be simultaneously trained, by employing the same set of image shapes produced and detected at different wavelengths. In accordance with the preferred embodiment, the apparatus includes a plurality of simulated weapon having a light source, a reflective surface, a light data acquisition assembly, and a controller to analyze and compare collected data. The light data acquisition assembly comprises a rasterizing sensor (i.e., a CCD camera), wavelength filter, and a data acquisition interface has a plurality of counters which convert pixel intensity and location data into a category of data, including position, length and intensity, for each segment of an image shape for subseqent receipt by the controller.
