Disclosed is a method for processing position data of an automotive vehicle motor, implemented by a multi-core electronic computer including: a software module for the production of data of angular position of the motor, and at least one software module for driving the motor as a function of the angular position data. The method includes a step of deactivation of each drive module by the module for the production of angular position data, followed by a step of activation of each drive module by the production module. In the course of the deactivation step, the production module dispatches to each drive module a deactivation command, and then a request for confirmation that each drive module is deactivated, and the step of activation of the drive modules is implemented only when the deactivation of all the drive modules has been confirmed to the production module.

Disclosed is a method for determining the state of rotation of a camshaft of a vehicle engine, notable in that the method for determining the state of rotation of the camshaft determines that the state of rotation of the camshaft is 'in the process of stalling', corresponding to an intermediate state of rotation, when the time elapsed since the last detection of a camshaft wheel tooth-front by the sensor exceeds Tcam_cal, Tcam_cal being defined as the theoretical length of time needed for the camshaft wheel to cover an angular distance equal to the maximum angular distance separating two successive camshaft wheel tooth-fronts at a camshaft rotational speed corresponding to a predetermined low engine speed higher than the minimum engine speed tolerated by the engine.

Method for determining the state of rotation of a camshaft of a vehicle engine

A method for determining the angular position of an engine by a crankshaft sensor, having the following steps: production by the crankshaft sensor of a signal exhibiting a 'revolution' event, determination of the revolution out of two revolutions, since a crankshaft makes two revolutions per engine cycle for a four-stroke engine, for each 'no tooth' event potentially produced, a change in the direction of rotation of the engine is suspected, and an analysis step is performed which comprises: if, during an inverse window, a further &#x201c;no tooth&#x201d; event is produced, the change in direction of rotation is confirmed.

A method for determining the angular position of an engine by a crankshaft sensor and a camshaft sensor. The method includes production by the crankshaft sensor of a revolution event, determination of the angular position of the camshaft by identifying the start-of-tooth and end-of-tooth events following the revolution event, in rapid mode, over at most one revolution of the crankshaft, if a no tooth event occurs after the revolution event and if the determination of the angular position of the camshaft fails, the method continues with a step of determining the angular position of the camshaft by identification, in slow mode, over at least two crankshaft revolutions.
