A sensor, comprising: a magnetic field sensing module that is configured to generate a plurality of signals, each signal indicating a magnetic flux density of a different component of a magnetic field that is produced by a magnetic field source; a processing circuitry that is configured to: receive the plurality of signals from the magnetic field sensing module; evaluate a neural network based on the plurality of signals to obtain a plurality of probabilities, each of the plurality of probabilities indicating a likelihood of the magnetic field source being positioned in a different one of a plurality of positional domains; generate an output signal based on the plurality of probabilities, the output signal encoding an identifier of a current positional domain of the magnetic field source.

Multi-domain detector based on artificial neural network

A method for use in a sensor, comprising: generating a signal that is indicative of an angular position of a rotating target, the signal being generated by at least one magnetic field sensing element; adjusting the signal to produce an adjusted signal, the signal being adjusted based on a current value of a first adjustment coefficient and a current value of a second adjustment coefficient, the first adjustment coefficient including a gain adjustment coefficient, and the second adjustment coefficient including an offset adjustment coefficient; generating an output signal based on the adjusted signal; and updating the first adjustment coefficient, the updating including replacing the current value of the first adjustment coefficient with a new value of the first adjustment coefficient, the updating being performed by minimizing a function that is based on the current value of the first adjustment coefficient and the current value of the second adjustment coefficient.

Dynamic offset and amplitude tracker

A method for use in a sensor, comprising: generating a signal that is indicative of an angular position of a rotating target, the signal being generated by at least one magnetic field sensing element; adjusting the signal to produce an adjusted signal, the signal being adjusted based on a current value of a first adjustment coefficient; generating an output signal based on the adjusted signal; and updating the first adjustment coefficient, the updating including replacing the current value of the first adjustment coefficient with a new value of the first adjustment coefficient, the updating being performed by minimizing a function that is based on the current value of the first adjustment coefficient.

An apparatus is provided, comprising: a plurality of terminals for coupling the apparatus to a sensing bridge; a switching circuitry that is coupled to at least one of the plurality of terminals; and a processing circuitry that is configured to: cause the switching circuitry to couple the plurality of terminals to a voltage source, a ground source, and the processing circuitry in accordance with a first connection profile; detect a failure of the sensing bridge or a connection between the sensing bridge and any of the plurality of terminals; select a second connection profile based on a type of the failure; and cause the switching circuitry to couple the plurality of terminals to the voltage source, the ground source, and the processing circuitry in accordance with the second connection profile.

Dynamic bridge diagnostic

Methods and apparatus for combining redundant signals to generate outputs signals with enhanced accuracy and/or risk level. In embodiments, first signals are generated by a first transducer and second signals are generated by a second transducer. In other embodiments, first signals are generated by a first die and second signals are generated by a second die. An amount of overlap between error distributions of the first and second signals can be used to detect failure and/or indicate risk of failure.
