A method selects one or a plurality of sets of values characterizing an electric power of a power source capable of powering a device coupled to the power source via a connection interface. The selection is carried out according to values, characterizing the power supplied by the power source, measured at the connection interface.

Method for selecting a supply source power

A USB source device, supporting USB Power Delivery mode and coupled to a USB receiver device, includes a power converter delivering a supply voltage and a capacitive network coupled to the power converter. A method for managing the supply voltage on an output power supply pin of the USB source device includes discharging the capacitive network so as to reduce the supply voltage in response to a request to reduce the supply voltage by the USB receiver device to a target voltage. The method also includes delivering, to the power converter, a setpoint voltage for the supply voltage, a value of the setpoint voltage being reduced non-linearly so as to keep a temporal variation of the setpoint voltage lower than that of the supply voltage.

Method and device for decreasing the power supply voltage of a c-type USB receiver device supporting a USB power delivery mode

A device can be used for managing for managing the supply voltage on an output power supply pin of a USB Type-C source device that includes an AC-to-DC power converter for delivering the supply voltage. The source device is capable of supplying power to a receiver device. A power supply controller includes a first circuit configured to deliver a signal for discharging a capacitive network coupled to the power converter and also includes a second circuit configured to deliver, at the same time as the discharge signal, a new setpoint signal, corresponding to the new voltage delivered, to a control input of the power converter. A delay element is coupled between an output of the second circuit and the control input.

Method and device for managing a supply voltage

A method can be used for managing a power supply voltage on an output power supply pin of a USB Type-C source device coupled to a USB Type-C receiver device via a USB Type-C cable. A first measurement of a first voltage on a channel configuration pin of the cable is performed when the receiver device is not powered and a second measurement of a second voltage on the channel configuration pin is performed when the receiver device is powered. A difference between the first and second voltages is calculated and the power supply voltage is modified as a function of a value of the difference.

Method and system for managing the power supply voltage of a USB Type-C source device

A state of charge of a battery is estimated in several iterations, each iteration including: acquiring a measurement of intensity of current supplied by the battery, acquiring a measurement of voltage supplied by the battery, estimating a first state of charge of the battery based on a first estimated state of charge obtained upon a previous iteration and on the current intensity measurement, estimating a value of intensity of current supplied by the battery based on the voltage measurement and on a state of charge of the battery obtained upon the previous iteration, and calculating a corrected state of charge by adding to the first estimated state of charge a corrective term obtained by the product of a first correction gain multiplied by a factor representative of a difference between the estimated and measured current intensities.

Device for measuring the no-load voltage of a battery

A method of charging a battery of a device using a battery of a computer powered by the battery, in which the procedure is implemented by a circuit independent of the computer's processors. The method includes supplying a power supply voltage, insufficient to charge a battery, to a computer port, as long as a device is detected as connected to the port, controlling the supply of a charging voltage to the port, while supplying charging voltage to the port, detecting an end of charging condition of a battery of the device, and controlling the cutting off of the charging voltage to the port if the end of charging condition is detected, where this condition is determined according to the intensity of a charging current and according to a quantity of electrical charge supplied to the port and/or of a charging period.
