The invention concerns an electronic parking brake system (), comprising an air supply (), a check valve (), connected to the air supply, an electro-pneumatic control unit (), at least one park brake actuator (), a relay valve (), comprising a first port () connected to the check valve, a second port () connected to the electro-pneumatic control unit, a third port () connected to the park brake actuator and a fourth port () which is in communication with the atmosphere, and an electrically actuated valve (), which is controlled by the electro-pneumatic control unit () and which includes a first orifice () connected to a compressed air line () extending between the check valve and the air supply, a second orifice (), a third orifice () connected to the electro-pneumatic control unit (), and preferably a vent orifice. The second orifice () is connected to another compressed air line () extending between the check valve () and the first port () of the relay valve ().

A method of managing the braking force applied on the wheels of a vehicle including hybrid brake actuators is provided. In particular, safety functions, such as ABS and ESP are performed using hybrid actuators.

ABS strategy for hybrid brake actuators

A brake arrangement including hybrid brake actuators includes pneumatic and electric brake actuators, and is designed to overcome pneumatic failures by electrical brake actuators. The pneumatic can thus be lightened and less energy consuming. In particular, only one compressed air tank can be used for all the axles.

Brake arrangement comprising hybrid brake actuators

A vehicle includes an air compressor system for supplying compressed air to an air consuming circuit, wherein the vehicle includes an arrangement for determining that the vehicle is coasting. The compressor system is controllable to deliver compressed air at a first power rate and at least at a second higher power rate, and it is controlled to deliver compressed air at the second higher power rate when it is determined that the vehicle is coasting. A method for operating an air compressor system for such a vehicle is also provided.
