A hearing system comprises a hearing device, e.g., a hearing aid, comprising at least one microphone for converting a sound in the environment to an electric input signal. The hearing system comprises a processor comprising a user identification unit comprising a data-driven algorithm configured to provide a user identification signal indicating whether or not, or with what probability, the person currently wearing the hearing device is a particular user in dependence of a time segment of said particular user's voice and said at least one electric input signal.

Hearing device or system comprising a user identification unit

A hearing system comprises a hearing device, e.g. a hearing aid, configured to be worn by a particular user at or in an ear, or to be fully or partially implanted in the head at an ear of the user. The hearing device comprises at least one microphone for converting a sound in the environment of the hearing device to an electric input signal. The hearing system, e.g. the hearing device, comprises a processor comprising an own voice analyzer configured to characterize the voice of a person presently wearing the hearing device based at least partly on said electric input signal, and to provide characteristics of said person's voice, and an own voice acoustic channel analyzer for estimating characteristics of an acoustic channel from the mouth of the person presently wearing the hearing device to the at least one microphone based at least partly on said electric input signal, and to provide characteristics of said acoustic channel of said person. The hearing system further comprises a user identification unit configured to provide a user identification signal indicating whether or not, or with what probability, the person currently wearing the hearing device is said particular user in dependence of said characteristics of said person's voice and said characteristics of said acoustic channel of said person.

A hearing device, e.g. a hearing aid, comprises A) an input unit providing an electric input signal with a first dynamic range of levels comprising a target signal and/or a noise signal; B) an output unit providing output stimuli; C) a dynamic compressive amplification system comprising c1) a level detector unit providing a level estimate of the electric input signal; c2) a level post processing unit for providing a modified level estimate in dependence of a first control signal; c3) a level compression unit for providing a compressive amplification gain in dependence of the modified level estimate and a user's hearing data; and c4) a gain post processing unit for providing a modified compressive amplification gain in dependence of a second control signal; D) a control unit configured to provide a classification of said electric input signal, and to provide said first and second control signals based on said classification; and E) a forward gain unit for applying the modified compressive amplification gain to the electric input signal. A method of operating a hearing device is furthermore provided.

Hearing device comprising a dynamic compressive amplification system and a method of operating a hearing device

The disclosure relates to a hearing assistance system and a system signal processing unit for a hearing assistance system wherein the hearing assistance system comprises at least two binaural hearing systems including a first binaural hearing system and a second binaural hearing system is provided. The system signal processing unit comprises or is operatively connected to a wireless data communication interface for wirelessly communicating with at least one of said at least two binaural hearing systems. The system signal processing unit is configured to receive a first system electric audio signal and first system spatial information related to said first system electric audio signal originating from said first binaural hearing system, said first system spatial information comprising at least one of a first system angle of incidence of incoming sound and a first system time delay between capturing sound by the two spaced apart hearing devices of said first hearing aid system, and to receive a second system electric audio signal and a second system spatial information related to said second system electric audio signal originating from said second binaural hearing system, said second system spatial information comprising at least one of a second system angle of incidence of incoming sound and a second system time delay between capturing sound by the two spaced apart hearing devices of said second hearing aid system. The system signal processing unit is further configured to process said first and second system electric audio signals based on said first and second system spatial information and to generate an enhanced electric audio signal.

The application relates to a hearing aid system comprising a hearing aid device comprising a configurable signal processing unit, a programming device configured to program the configurable signal processing unit, and a communication link allowing the exchange of data between the hearing aid device and the programming device. The application further relates to a method of programming configurable signal processing unit to provide an increased speech intelligibility by frequency lowering. The hearing aid system is configured to program the configurable signal processing unit of the hearing device according the claimed method. The invention may e.g. be used in hearing aids.
