Methods for making a synthetic mineral and methods for making synthetic mineral precursors and the products of said methods.

Process for making synthetic minerals

A method for preparing an organic/inorganic hybrid composition including mineral nanoparticles functionalized by at least one molecule chosen from colored charged organic molecules, this method including providing a solution (a) of at least one colored charged organic molecule, providing a suspension (b) of non-swelling phyllosilicate nanoparticles, contacting the solution (a) and the suspension (b), the non-swelling phyllosilicate nanoparticles having a thickness of 1 nm to 100 nm, and a larger dimension of 10 nm to 10 μm. A composition of organic/inorganic hybrid colored nanoparticles obtained by this method is also disclosed.

Colored organic/inorganic hybrid materials and method for preparing same

A method for preparing a composition including mineral particles functionalized by at least one organic group and having a specific surface defined according to the BET method greater than 500 m/g, involves: &#x2014;choosing a phyllosilicate composition, including mineral particles having a thickness of less than 100 nm, a largest dimension of less than 10 &#x3bc;m and belonging to the family of lamellar silicates; &#x2014;choosing at least one functionalizing agent, from the group formed from the oxysilanes and oxygermanes having at least one organic group, &#x2014;bringing the phyllosilicate composition into contact with a functionalizing solution including the functionalizing agent, so as to obtain a phyllosilicate composition including mineral particles functionalized by the organic group, while choosing the organic group from the group formed from the cationic heteroaryl groups, the quaternary ammonium groups and the salts of same. The phyllosilicate composition obtained by the method is also described.

Method for preparing a composition comprising functionalised mineral particles and corresponding composition

Disclosed is a method for preparing a hybrid organic/inorganic composition including inorganic nanoparticles functionalized by at least one molecule chosen from photoluminescent charged organic molecules, the method including bringing into contact, in a single-phase solvent medium, at least one photoluminescent charged organic molecule and non-swelling phyllosilicate nanoparticles having a thickness of 1 nm to 100 nm, and a larger dimension of 10 nm to 10 &#x3bc;m. Also disclosed are hybrid photoluminescent nanoparticles compositions obtained by this method.

Photoluminescent hybrid organic/inorganic materials and method for preparing same

The invention relates to a method for preparing synthetic mineral particles with formula (AlM)(SiGe)O(OH), wherein M designates at least one trivalent metal selected from the group made up of gallium and the rare earths, which comprises the following steps: preparing a gel which is a precursor of said synthetic mineral particles by a co-precipitation reaction of at least one salt of metal selected among aluminium and M with at least one silicon source selected from the group made up of potassium metasilicate, sodium metasilicate, potassium metagermanate and sodium metagermanate, the molar ratio of (AlM) to (SiGe) during the preparation of said precursor gel being equal to 1, at least one base being added during said co-precipitation reaction; and performing a solvothermal treatment of said precursor gel at a temperature of 250&#xb0; C. to 600&#xb0; C.

The invention relates to a mineral compound, referred to as synthetic mica, with formula A(Si-Ge)MO(OH), wherein: A designates at least one monovalent interfoliar cation of a metal element, A having the formula LiNaKRbCs, each instance of w(i) representing a real number in the interval [0; 1], such that the sum of the instances of w(i) is equal to 1; t is a real number in the interval [0.3; 1]; x is a real number in the interval [0; 1]; M designates at least one divalent metal having the formula MgCoZnCuMnFeNiCr, each instance of y(i) representing a real number in the interval [0; 1], such as the formula (A); and z is a real number in the interval [2.50; 2.85]. Synthetic mineral compound, composition including such a compound and method for manufacturing such a compound

A composition comprising synthetic mineral particles, such as silicate or phyllosilicate mineral particles, is presented. The composition can be prepared by a process in which a hydrogel precursor of the synthetic mineral particles is produced by a coprecipitation reaction between at least one compound comprising silicon, such as sodium metasilicate, and at least one compound comprising at least one metal element, such as a dicarboxylate salt of the formula M(R&#x2014;COO), wherein Ris H or an alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms. The coprecipitation reaction also takes place in the presence of at least one carboxylate salt of formula R&#x2014;COOM' wherein M&#x2032; is Na or K, and Ris H or an alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms.

Composition containing synthetic mineral particles and a process for preparing the composition

A method for preparing a composition includes silico/germano-metal particles functionalized by at least one organic group, which involves:&#x2014;carrying out a hydrothermal treatment of a hydrogel precursor of the silico/germano-metal mineral particles, and&#x2014;preparing a hydrogel including silico/germano-metal particles having at least one organic group by co-precipitation in an aqueous medium. A composition including functionalized silico/germano-metal mineral particles of which 1% to 75% of the silicon atoms and/or of the germanium atoms are covalently bonded to at least one organic group is also described.

A process for preparing a magnetic talcous composition including mineral particles, referred to as magnetic talcous particles, having a non-zero magnetic susceptibility, in which, during an oxidative contacting step, talcous particles chosen from the group formed from 2:1 lamellar silicates having a zero electric charge are brought into contact with particles including at least one magnetic iron oxide chosen from the group formed from magnetite and maghemite, the magnetic particles having a mean equivalent diameter of between 1 nm and 50 nm.
