An installation intended to separate the components of a mixture containing fibers () and granules () is provided. The installation comprises a tribocharger () for conferring an electrostatic charge upon the components (), and at least one pair of electrodes () for generating a separating electric field that conveys the charged components, according to their polarity, up to collectors (). The tribocharger () has a containment grating () arranged so as to retain the components in the tribocharger () until the components () have reached a sufficient charge, then to allow the components, once charged, through into the gap (), from which point the components () reach their collector () under the effect of the separating electric field.

Installation intended to separate, in an electric field, the components of a mixture of fibres and granules using a tribocharger provided with a grating for the selective confinement of said components

An installation is provided that is intended to separate two families of components of a mixture placed in a receptacle. The installation is provided with a screen and comprises a first electrode, a second electrode, and a generator that generates, between the first and second electrodes, an agitating alternating electrical field. The alternating electrical field is capable of alternately projecting all or some of the components of the mixture that is present in the receptacle towards or against the first electrode and then towards or against the second electrode in order to generate mechanical impacts on the components that contribute to breaking down the mixture within the receptacle and in order to facilitate the passage of components belonging to the second family through the screen. The screen ensures components belonging to the first family are retained in the receptacle.

A tire includes a carcass ply, two beads, two sidewalls, and a crown reinforcing zone. The carcass ply connects the two beads by way of the two sidewalls. The crown reinforcing zone is positioned radially external to the carcass ply. The crown reinforcing zone includes a plurality of reinforcing strips disposed in at least two layers. The reinforcing strips are coated in an elastomeric composition. A mean overlap between the reinforcing strips of the two layers is greater than 40%. The reinforcing strips are made of a thermoplastic film having a modulus greater than 0.9 GPa, and preferably greater than 2 GPa, in a main direction and in a transverse direction.

A high modulus textile cord () with at least triple twist (T1, T2, T3) comprises at least N strands (), N being greater than 1, twisted together with a final twist T3 and a final direction D2, each strand being made up of M pre-strands (), M being greater than 1, themselves twisted together with an intermediate twist T2 (T2a, T2b, T2c, T2d) and an intermediate direction D1 opposite to D2, each pre-strand itself consisting of a yarn () which has been twisted on itself beforehand with an initial twist T1 (T1a, T1b, T1c) and the direction D1, in which at least half of the N times M yarns have an initial elastic modulus denoted Mi which is greater than 2000 cN/tex. This textile cord can advantageously be used as a reinforcer in tires for vehicles, particularly in the belt or carcass reinforcement of these tires.

A reinforcing element, having a cross section with a flattened overall shape and extending in a main direction and comprising at least one lateral edge made of a polymeric composition comprising a thermoplastic polymer, the lateral edge extending in a general direction substantially parallel to the main direction is treated by heating at least a part of the lateral edge, during which at least a part of the lateral edge is subjected to a plasma flow so as to raise the temperature of the part of the lateral edge above the melting point of the thermoplastic polymer.

The reinforcing element () has a cross-section with a flattened overall shape having an aspect ratio greater than or equal to 5 and extending in a main direction (Z). It comprises a lateral edge () made of a polymeric composition comprising a thermoplastic polymer, the lateral edge () extending in a general direction substantially parallel to the main direction. The reinforcing element () is such that R=(Uc&#x2212;U)/Uc&#x3e;11%, where Uc is the average value of the microhardness of the reinforcing element () measured in its central part, and Uis the average value of the microhardness of the reinforcing element () measured at its lateral edge (). The lateral edge () does not have any ridges.

A radial tire includes a crown reinforcement or belt having a lightened belt structure. The lightened belt structure is constructed of a multilayer composite laminate that includes a first layer of rubber that radially surmounts, in a direction Z, two other layers of rubber. The first layer of rubber includes weakly heat-shrinkable textile circumferential reinforcers, for example, made of nylon or polyester. The two other layers of rubber are reinforced with monofilaments of high tensile steel. The first reinforcers have a diameter between 0.40 mm and 0.70 mm and a density between 70 and 130 threads/dm, and the second and third reinforcers have a diameter between 0.20 mm and 0.50 mm and a density between 120 and 180 threads/dm.

Tyre with lightened belt structure including steel monofilaments

A radial tire includes a crown reinforcement or belt having a lightened belt structure. The lightened belt structure is constructed of a multilayer composite laminate that includes a first layer of rubber that radially surmounts, in a direction Z, two other layers of rubber. The first layer of rubber is reinforced with first reinforcers, which are circumferential heat-shrinkable polyester textile reinforcers. The two other layers of rubber are reinforced with second and third reinforcers, which are monofilaments of high tensile steel. The first reinforcers have a diameter between 0.40 mm and 0.70 mm and a density between 70 and 130 threads/dm, and the second and third reinforcers have a diameter between 0.20 mm and 0.50 mm and a density between 120 and 180 threads/dm.

A multilayer laminate, which is usable as a reinforcing element for a finished article or for a semifinished product made of rubber, such as a tire, includes at least one polymer film having, in any tensile direction in the film's plane, a Young's modulus that is greater than 500 MPa. The film is positioned between and in contact with two layers formed of a rubber composition, such as natural rubber. Each layer formed of the rubber composition exhibits, in a crosslinked state, a secant modulus that, in extension at 10% elongation, is greater than 30 MPa, with between 30 and 150 MPa being preferable for the secant modulus.

Multilayer laminate which can be used for the reinforcement of a tyre belt

Pneumatic tire, the belt of which is reinforced by a multilayer laminate comprising at least one multiaxially drawn thermoplastic polymer film, such as for example a biaxially drawn PET film, placed between and in contact with two layers of rubber composition, such as natural rubber. Preferably, the thermoplastic polymer film has, irrespective of the tensile direction considered, a tensile modulus E which is greater than 500 MPa, a maximum tensile stress &#x3c3;which is greater than 80 MPa, and an elongation at break Ar greater than 40%. The above thermoplastic polymer film, placed between two layers of diene rubber compositions, can especially be used in the belt of pneumatic tires as a perforation-resistant protective film.
