A fuel additive system of a fuel delivery system of a vehicle includes an additive tank assembly, and a dosing unit in communication with the additive tank assembly to control the amount of additive dosed to the fuel tank. The additive tank assembly includes a pressurized tank of generally torispherical or ellipsoidal shape, a tank conduit with one end in communication with a sump in the pressurized tank and an opposite end extending out of the pressurized tank, and a valve in communication with the tank conduit near the opposite end thereof and being normally closed under pressure from the pressurized tank. The dosing unit includes a housing having an inlet passage in communication with the tank conduit, and a valve actuator in the inlet passage to displace the valve of the additive tank assembly to an open position once the dosing unit is assembled to the additive tank assembly.

Fuel additive dosing system, apparatus, and method

A gas and liquid separation device for use with a fuel tank. The separation device includes a body having at least one passage therethrough in fluid communication with the fuel tank, and a gas and liquid separator carried by the body in fluid communication with the at least one passage and being oriented at an angle with respect to horizontal when in use.

Fuel tank ventilation device

The invention concerns a drawing and gauging device for a motor vehicle fuel tank, characterised in that it comprises two support assemblies () mobile relative to each other when the device is being installed on site for use in the motor vehicle and an arm () pivotally mounted on one of the support assemblies bearing a gauging transducer (), the arm () being maintained in retracted position, when stored, by the other element (), such that the arm () is automatically unfolded when the device is installed.

The invention provides a piezoelectric liquid gauge system in particular for a motor vehicle fuel tank, the system comprising piezoelectric means suitable for transmitting a sound wave in a liquid and for detecting said wave in order to determine the distance traveled by the wave in the liquid on the basis of the time between transmission and reception, said piezoelectric means comprising two distinct active piezoelectric portions suitable respectively for directing a sound wave towards a reference obstacle and a sound wave towards the surface of the liquid to be gauged, the system being wherein the pellet is contained in a housing suitable for being fixed in position in the tank in which measurement is to be performed, the reference obstacle extending over a face of the housing which faces one of the active portions, said face also having a measurement opening placed facing the other active portion and suitable for allowing the measurement sound waves to pass through.

Depth gauge

The assembly comprises a module supported in the reservoir by side plate, with outlet to fuel tank, return inlet and electrical power socket. The module housing, with end cap, forms an intermediate reservoir for the liquid, which is collected there by the venturi pump activated by flow in the return line from the main tank when pressure in the outlet is exceeded. The main pump is horizontally mounted and preferably electrically-driven. The pump is secured in the holder with side engaging clips.
