The antenna includes a supply loop arranged substantially orthogonally with respect to the ground plane, the supply loop being open such that it has two opposing longitudinal ends arranged so as to be linked to a differential connection.

An artificial magnetic conductor having a surface impedance greater than 100&#x3a9;, includes a ground plane, and a frequency-selective surface that is transparent for certain wavelengths and reflective for a range of wavelengths. The frequency-selective surface includes an array of conductive resonant elements arranged alongside one another in at least two different directions parallel to the ground plane. Each of these conductive resonant elements includes a sub-layer of ferromagnetic material having a relative permeability greater than 10 at a frequency of 2 GHz and having a thickness less than the skin thickness of the ferromagnetic material.

In the field of telecommunications antennas suitable for portable communication casings, a monopole radio antenna is provided, including an etched conducting surface, including a ground plane, a structure of conducting lines, and a signal injection point in the structure of conducting lines. The structure of conducting lines comprises a first meander conducting line having multiple strands elongated in a first direction, a second meander conducting line symmetrical to the first conducting line in relation to a median line passing in the plane via the injection point and perpendicular to a general direction of elongation of the strands, the two lines starting from the injection point, and a common surface connected to the ends of the conducting lines distant from the injection point. The antenna is less sensitive to radiation efficiency reductions due to the presence of a plastic hood enclosing the antenna.

In the field of electronic apparatuses that can be held in the hand and that comprise a miniaturized radio antenna, an apparatus comprises a casing of generally parallelepipidal form with a main face and a first small side. The antenna extends partly along the main face and partly over the first side. It comprises a conductive structure divided up so as to form a meandering inductive conductive line linked to a main conductive surface which extends over most of the first side and which is folded at the ends of this first side onto a second and a third side adjacent to the main face to form two folded lateral wings, at least one respective slot being provided to separate each wing from the main conductive surface and thus narrow and lengthen the paths of the electric currents going to the folded lateral wings.

A differential dipole antenna system includes, on a same surface of a dielectric substrate, a first half of a thick radiating dipole, a first conducting strip of a bi-strip line for supplying a differential signal, the first conducting strip being connected to the first half of the thick radiating dipole, a second half of a thick radiating dipole and a second conducting strip of the bi-strip supply line, the second conducting strip being connected to the second half of the thick radiating dipole. The system further includes, on the same surface, an additional conducting strip defining a short circuit connecting the first half and the second half of the thick dipole, and a differential resonating filtering device having a bandwidth adapted so as to be combined with the resonance generated by the short circuit so as to generate an antenna impedance matching.
