A display device for a vehicle includes: a first transparent or translucent layer comprising a pictogram, a second transparent or translucent layer, covering the pictogram, a liquid crystal display, arranged in line with the pictogram, and a light source configured to emit light to illuminate the pictogram by passing through the liquid crystal display and the second layer. The liquid crystal display at least partially covers the second layer, and an assembly formed by the first layer and the second layer is rigid.

A trim element that includes a cover layer defining an outer surface and having at least two distinct backlit pattern areas, the trim element further including at least one lighting module having at least one light source and a first light guide arranged for guiding light from the light source toward the backlit areas of the cover layer. The trim element includes a switching module extending between the cover layer and the lighting module, the switching module having at least two optical shutter areas extending opposite every backlit pattern area of the cover layer and being configurable between an open position and a closed position.

Trim element comprising commutable backlit areas

A trim element having a first aspect layer, a lighting device emitting light to the first aspect layer, and a first obturation layer extending between the lighting device and the first aspect layer. The first obturation layer includes at least two first optical obturation areas, configurable between an open position, in which a first optical obturation area lets light pass through, and a closed position, in which a first optical obturation area prevents the passage of light. The trim element includes a second aspect layer and a second obturation layer having at least two second optical obturation areas that are configurable between an open position and a closed position.

Trim element comprising modular backlit areas

A control and display device for a vehicle includes a control element and an associated display area. In the display area are superimposed: a first layer that is opaque except for a translucent complex pictogram, the complex pictogram combining two separate elementary pictograms; two separate filtering areas, each filtering area having the shape of a corresponding single elementary pictogram, each filtering area transmitting wavelengths within a respective range, the respective ranges of wavelengths being disjoint; and a light source suitable for emitting within the respective different ranges of wavelengths, concomitantly or alternately. The two filtering areas are positioned between the light source and the complex pictogram on the opaque layer.

Control and display device, in particular for a vehicle

A trim element having a coating layer defining an outer surface and an inner surface, the coating layer including at least two distinct backlit pattern areas separated by at least one opaque area preventing the passage of light from the inner surface to the outer surface. The trim element includes at least one light source for each backlit pattern area, the light source being fixed on the inner surface of the coating layer facing an opaque area while being spaced apart from the corresponding backlit pattern area. The trim element has one light guide per backlit pattern area.

Trim element comprising two independent backlit areas

A trim element having a covering layer containing at least one opaque area preventing the passage of light and at least one backlit area translucent so as to enable the passage of light, the trim element further including at least one light source and at least one reflective surface extending opposite the light source and being arranged to reflect the light emitted by the light source toward the backlit area. The light source is attached to the covering layer opposite the opaque area, and the reflective surface extends opposite the covering layer to reflect light emitted by the light source toward the backlit area.

A display device is provided, such as for motor vehicles. The device comprises a display element that is backlit via a light source. A lightguide conducts light from the source. A pre-assembled back-lighting module serves to illuminate the display element, and facilitates manufacture and assembly of the device.
