An electric power supply system using a single converter of the Boost type for supplying a plurality of lighting modules of a motor vehicle with electric voltage. Each module comprises a dedicated converter of the Buck type in order to ensure the regulation of the electric current in such a way as to meet the needs of the light sources of the lighting module in question. A communication network which connects the centralized unit and the lighting modules makes it possible to ensure the control of the modules and the detection of faults, as well as to notify the latter to other devices of the motor vehicle.

Distributed electric lighting architecture for motor vehicle

A light module for a light device of a motor vehicle. The module according to the invention comprises driving means for the electrical power supply of at least one light source mounted as a load of the driving means and further comprises switching means capable of selectively short-circuiting at least one of the light sources of the module. The invention relates also to a method allowing for the selective short-circuiting of at least one light source of a light module according to the invention.

Light module for a light device of a motor vehicle and associated method

A light unit or indicating device for a vehicle (.e.g., a vehicle lighting unit, a vehicle indicating unit, reversing radars and other systems) has a shell, a light contained in the shell, and an electronics card mechanically associated with the shell. The electronics card is connected an electrical power supply and to a multiplexed bus of an on-board network. The card has a controller for the light that allows exchange of commands and information on status of the light unit over the multiplexed bus, and also has an internal bus connected to the controller and the light that allows exchange between them of commands generated by the controller and of the status information of the light unit. The unit may also have an ancillary component for implementing ancillary facilities such as light beam adaptation or automatic adjustment of the orientation of the light beam.
