Methods, computer-readable media, and systems for automated quantification of the impact of software code reuse are disclosed. A method performed by a processing system including at least one processor includes estimating an amount of a piece of source code that comprises reused code, estimating a resource cost associated with a development of the piece of source code, estimating an amount of resources saved by using the reused code in the piece of source code, based on the resource cost and the amount of the piece of source code that comprises the reused code, and initiating a modification to the piece of source code in response to the amount of resources saved.

Quantifying the impact of software code reuse

Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, detecting communications between a source device and a destination device, wherein the communications relate to a particular context and are facilitated over a first network associated with the destination device, determining a state or trust level for the particular context based on reference data, detecting a change in behavior of the source device, updating the state or trust level based on the detecting the change in behavior of the source device, resulting in an updated state or trust level, identifying a loss of trust condition based on the updated state or trust level, restricting communications between the source device and the destination device, and performing a trust rebuild process in an attempt to address the loss of trust condition and to enable the source device to resume communications with the destination device. Method and system for adaptive trust recovery in mixed environment communications

A method includes generating a bill of materials for a piece of source code, where the piece of source code comprises a plurality of lines of code, providing the bill of materials to a knowledge base with a request for known call signatures, receiving, from the knowledge base, a list comprising a plurality of known call signatures and a plurality of reuse estimates, wherein each reuse estimate of the plurality of reuse estimates indicates an estimate of a number of lines of reused code associated with one call signature of the plurality of known call signatures, generating an initial calculation of a number of lines of reused code that are present in the piece of source code, using the list comprising the plurality of known call signatures, and generating a report indicating an amount of the source code that comprises reused code, based on at least the initial calculation.
