Battery parts, such as battery terminals, and associated systems and methods for making the same are disclosed herein. In some embodiments, a battery part includes a body having a base portion and a lug portion extending from the base portion. The battery part can further include a light-curable sealing material at least partially covering an exterior surface of the base portion. The sealing material is configured to seal an interface between the battery part and the material of a battery container when the base portion is embedded in the battery container material.

Battery parts having solventless acid barriers and associated systems and methods

Biodegradable resin products consisting essentially of a polymeric resin of starch, polyesters of polylactic acid and polycaprolactone. In admixture with the resin is a particulate vapor phase corrosion inhibitor selected from amine salts, ammonium benzoate, triazole derivatives, tall oil imidazolines, alkali metal molybdates, alkali dibasic acid salts, and mixtures thereof, and is present in an amount ranging from between about 1% and 3% by weight of the polymeric resin.

Biodegradable resin products consisting essentially of a polymeric resin of polyethylene, starch, polyesters such as polylactic acid, or other suitable polyesters. In admixture with the resin is a particulate vapor phase corrosion inhibitor selected from amine salts, ammonium benzoate, triazole derivatives, tall oil imidazolines, alkali metal molybdates, alkali dibasic acid salts, and mixtures thereof, and is present in an amount ranging from between about 1% and 3% by weight of the polymeric resin.

Biodegradable vapor corrosion inhibitor products

A package containing a vapor phase corrosion inhibitor for use in forming film packaging envelopes. The package, and the method of forming the package include the selection of a suitable substrate board, and the application of a thermally activated adhesive film containing a quantity of vapor phase corrosion inhibitor onto the surface of the board. The films are thermal forming resins, such as a copolymer of ethylene and a vinyl monomer having an acid group thereon, and with the film resin also being blended with a vapor phase corrosion inhibitor. The vapor phase corrosion inhibitors used in the adhesive and in the film are selected from the group consisting of blends of alkali metal molybdates, alkali metal nitrites, triazoles, and amine salts. In forming the package, the films are initially heated or formed separately, and thereafter moved into contact with the substrate, this being undertaken with the peripheral areas of the film thereby becoming bonded to the substrate.

Vapor phase corrosion inhibitor package utilizing plastic packaging

A package for facilitating the protection of metallic surfaces against corrosion and including a blend of corrosion inhibitor and surface-conditioning component such as a degreaser, descaler, and/or anti-static component in liquid state impregnated into a substrate such as a wipe for simultaneous and direct application to the surface of the article being protected. The corrosion inhibitor component is preferably an amine salt of carboxylic acid, triazole, an alkali metal salt of aldonic acid, or alkanolamine salts of fatty acids, an alkali metal or alkanolamine salt of aromatic sulfonic acid, or blends thereof. The substrate is preferably a wipe fabricated from a fabric such as soft cotton, but may also include other wipe materials such as woven or non-woven polyolefin fabric, or non-woven materials such as paper toweling.

Corrosion inhibitor solution applicator

A corrosion inhibitor formulation for use in reinforced concrete structures, the inhibitor reducing the rate of corrosion in metallic reinforcing rods placed within the structures. The formulation comprises a mixture of alkali metal glucoheptonates and alkali metal molybdates.

Corrosion inhibitor for reducing corrosion in metallic concrete

A corrosion inhibitor formulation for use in reinforced concrete structures, the inhibitor reducing the rate of corrosion in metallic reinforcing rods placed within the structures. The formulation comprises a mixture of benzoic acid, aldonic acid, and a triazole such as benzotriazole or tolyltriazole.
