A safety mechanism for a closing installation, comprising a shaft and an element having teeth for cooperating with a catch which oscillates during rotational movements of the shaft. The mechanism further comprises a safety system including a ring for braking the oscillatory movement of the catch. The movement of the ring is controlled by a detecting system that detects the state of a spring which used to compensate the torque exerted on the shaft by the screen body.

A mechanism () comprising a driving element () for rotationally driving a winding shaft () for a closing or sun-protection installation of an opening () and at least one spring () for compensating a weight of the installation. The spring () is mounted around the driving element () and is jointly associated with a sub-unit (), which can be at least partially introduced in a unitary manner inside the shaft (). The spring () includes a first end () kinematically linked to said driving element () so that the first end () is immobilized in rotation abut an axis of rotation (X-X') of the shaft (), and a second end () kinematically linked to the shaft () when the sub-unit () is placed inside the shaft () so that the second end () rotates about the axis of rotation (X-X&#x2032;).

Maneuvering mechanism and closing installation or sun protection installation incorporating one such device

An electric gear motor with reduction gears and automatic brake for shutters, wherein an emergency control is provided to allow the shutter to be manually maneuvered in the event of motor brake down or loss of power. A toothed ring is normally retained in a non-rotatable position relative to the reduction gears under the influence of a yieldable leg of a spring pin. The yieldable leg is movable away from the ring to permit the ring to rotate with the reduction gears and free of a motor drive shaft in the event the motor fails to activate in a normal manner thus enabling the shutters to be manually operated.
