The invention relates to an article having a main body with elastic characteristics, in particular an air spring bellows, a metal-rubber element or a vibration damper. The article has a single-layer or multilayer main body having elastic properties, wherein the outer layer C has at least two laminas C/Cand each lamina is formed from an elastomer mixture, and wherein at least one layer D composed of a weave or loop-formed knit or loop-drawn knit has been embedded into this outer layer. This leads to further optimization of the fire-retardant properties.

The invention relates to an article comprising a main body () that consists of a polymer material having elastic properties, particularly an air spring bellows (), a metal-rubber element or a vibration damper. In order for fire-retardant properties to be improved, the article is provided, partially or fully, with a cover () formed from at least one flat textile structure and/or at least one three-dimensional textile structure and/or at least one shrink film. The cover can be fire-retardant itself or can be equipped to be fire-retardant.
