A method for operating an air separation plant having a distillation column system, a heat exchanger, and an adsorber, wherein, in a first time period, a first operating mode is carried out and, in a second time period following the first time period, a second operating mode is carried out. In a third time period between the second time period and the first time period, a third operating mode is carried out, in which third operating mode compressed air is at least partially freed of water and carbon dioxide in the adsorber and at least part of said compressed air is cooled in the heat exchanger, an air product is removed from the distillation column system and at least part of said air product is heated in the heat exchanger.

The present invention relates to a computer-implemented method for performing a chemical engineering process, in particular in an air separation plant or a natural gas plant, wherein a multiplicity of process simulations are performed simultaneously, in the course of each of which the process in the process plant is in each case simulated for a particular application case, wherein each application case is characterized by values of process plant variables and/or values of process parameters, wherein, in the multiplicity of process simulations, values for the process plant variables and/or for the process parameters are determined such that at least one predefined condition is met, wherein free values for process plant variables and/or process parameters are determined, and wherein dependent values for process plant variables and/or process parameters are determined from the free values for process plant variables and/or process parameters.

Computer-implemented method for sizing a process plant

The method and the apparatus are used for the low-temperature fractionation of a fluid mixture. The fluid mixture is introduced into a separation column. At least a portion of the sump liquid from the separation column is introduced into a sump evaporator and at least partly evaporated there. At least a portion of the vapor produced in the sump evaporator is led back into a lower section of the separation column. A top product is removed at the top of the separation column, and a sump product is removed from the sump of the separation column or from the sump evaporator. The sump evaporator is operated by means of inductive heating.
