The disclosure relates to a method for presenting a shared virtual environment to users residing in different vehicles while driving in a real-world environment. In at least one of the vehicles, an interactive user device of that vehicle receives definition data from the user residing in that vehicle, wherein the definition data describe a new virtual event for the virtual environment, and a position sensor of the vehicle generates position data of the vehicle while the user generates the definition data, wherein the position data describe a current position of the vehicle in the real-world environment. A server device receives the definition data and the corresponding position data and generates corresponding event data of a new virtual event, wherein based on the position data a trigger region is defined that defines where in the real-world environment the virtual event shall be triggered for the users in their respective vehicle.

A method of controlling a VR device, in particular VR goggles, of a user in a vehicle interior of a vehicle via a communication link, includes vehicle data being received and evaluated, or receiving evaluated vehicle data via the communication link. At least one traffic event may be classified based on the evaluated vehicle data, to generate control commands for controlling the VR device, by way of which the user of the VR device may be alerted to a response of the vehicle to the traffic event, which may be unpredictable to the user. The examples further relate to a vehicle arrangement.

Traffic situation-dependent control of a virtual reality device

When at least one mobile head-mounted display (HMD) is located in at least one vehicle, a control unit of the HMD performs inside-out tracking based on a six-degree-of-freedom (6DOF) algorithm with the aid of at least one camera image captured by at least one camera, using a 6DOF-algorithm-based translation of the at least one mobile HMD. The HMD control unit executes an application that creates an edge model of an interior of the vehicle and provides automated computer-vision-based 6DOF tracking of the at least one mobile HMD.

Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a method and a system for determining a route from a motor vehicle location to a destination, in which a vehicle control unit transmits an emergency call to a recipient of a central exchange. In the process, a computing device at the central exchange determines the route to the destination. In the process, the computing device of the central exchange takes into account, in selecting the destination, a first time period which the motor vehicle requires to traverse the route and a second time period which a rescue vehicle requires to reach the destination. The computing device selects the destination such that a sum of the two time periods is minimal.
