A mounting adapter is provided for at least one electrical switch having outlets for switching gases on an output side and/or an input side thereof. The at least one electrical switch can be mounted from the upper side of the mounting adapter and the mounting adapter can be securely mounted in a switch cabinet. The switching gases of an electrical switch mounted in the mounting adapter are guided from the output side and/or the input side in exhaust gas channels to a respective side/underside of the mounting adapter and can exit the mounting adapter from there. A switch cabinet includes the mounting adapter.

A carrier shaft with a modular structure for an electromechanical switching device of an embodiment includes at least one first carrier module, at least one second carrier module and at least one connecting module, arranged in a torsion-inhibiting manner between the at least one first carrier module and the at least one second carrier module. A molded-case circuit breaker includes a handle, a contact system and an actuating device. In an embodiment, the handle is movable between an 'ON' position and an 'OFF' position, the contact system includes at least one stationary contact and a movable contact and the actuating device is operatively connected to the handle and the contact system such that, when the handle is actuated, it is possible to open and close the contact system. Furthermore, in the event of a fault state, the handle can be brought into a &#x201c;TRIP&#x201d; position arranged between the &#x201c;ON&#x201d; position and the &#x201c;OFF&#x201d; position by the actuating device.

A rotor for an electric switch is disclosed. In an embodiment, the rotor includes a rotor housing and a rotatably mounted contact bridge, which exhibits two movable contacts, wherein, by the rotation of the rotor, the two movable contacts can interact with two fixed contacts of an electric switch for closing or opening a circuit. The rotatably mounted contact bridge in the rotor housing is movably mounted in a direction perpendicular to the direction of the contact bridge in its closed position.

In line circuit breakers with a combined overcurrent/short-circuit current tripping device, tripping should take place in a well defined manner in the case of an overcurrent and in the case of a short-circuit current. For this purpose, gaps (A, B) need to be set precisely. If the housing is made from a cost-effective housing material such as thermosetting plastic it is subject to shrinkage. As a result, the mentioned gaps may change. An armature () is mounted in such a way that it changes its rest rotary position in the event of shrinkage of the housing. A magnet yoke () as part of the overcurrent/short-circuit current tripping device is mounted and shaped in such a way that the rotation is compensated for precisely, so that the mentioned gaps do not change despite the shrinkage.

An adjusting device is for a thermal trip of a switchgear. It includes a bimetal, which is held in a fixed manner on a bimetal support, whose free end is located at a distance from a tripping lever, and which increasingly acts upon this tripping lever in a tripping direction as a result of thermal deformation. A distance can be adjusted by deforming the bimetal support. The adjusting device is particularly suited for use in circuit-breakers or the like.

The contact element is provided with a simple base body that includes a recess for accommodating a first conductor. When a first conductor is accommodated inside the recess, an electrically conductive connection is established between the base body and the first conductor by rupturing the insulation of said conductor.

An adjusting device is for a thermal trip element of a switchgear. It includes a bimetallic element that is stationarily fixed on a bimetallic support. The free end of the bimetallic element is spaced apart form a trip lever and increasingly impinges the same in the direction of release was a result of the thermal deformation, the distance being adjustable by bending the bimetallic support. The adjusting device is especially suitable for circuit breakers or the like.
